Poker Players! Help!
I realize this should be in fantasyplanet -- but that place is bare bones.
I live in Topeka. I've been wanting to play some live poker lately. Anyone know of any good games around? Is my best bet driving up to Hollywood Casino? I would prefer tournament style of play, rather than a cash game. Any help or recommendations would be great. |
Skinny's use to have a tournament.

This should be a great start for you. I know that some of the people we play our home game with say that Tailgaters usually has a pretty good turn out. They have cash prizes and maybe a $5 buy in if anything. Not real big money stuff but fun none the less. I used to play at those places a lot when the WPT Amatuer leage was around, but they are no longer in KC. But obviously the casinos have assorted buy in tournaments every week and almost every day if you aren't picky about the location. Doesn't the Prairie Band casino have poker? They would probably be closer to you. |
Prairie Band has limited interest in poker apparently.
It is usually Limit that's being played. It is just normally one table too. The interest for NL is not there. They have MTTs on their site, but according to one of the poker room guys they never have any interest for those either. |

Only about an hour and 15 minutes away from me. I wonder if the afternoon tournaments are as frequented as the evening tournaments. |
Seems like Hollywood in KCK would be your closest bet. Harrahs probably has more tournaments though but Hollywood has more traffic and there is always 2/5 cash going on. Never 2/5 at Harrahs anymore.. Im sure theres some KU students that have some tourneys in Lawrence but dont know about them.

Prick/QUOTE] You can still play online. Its not illegal for you to play...its illegal for the company to host it online. Tons of ppl still are. Merge network, winning poker network, revolution poker network, bovada.... |
