Yay. Been getting pretty solid advance buzz and reviews.

Yeah, I'm definitely in.

WhitiE 09-15-2012 06:03 PM

wanted to see it since the first trailer i saw

BWillie 09-16-2012 06:02 PM

Really really looking forward to this one

Aries Walker 09-16-2012 06:10 PM

It doesn't strike me as being to Minority Report levels, but it also doesn't strike me as being a real Fifth Element stinker. I'll rate it as a solid Adjustment Bureau.

That movie was/is awesome :spock:

Aries Walker 09-16-2012 06:18 PM

Obviously, I didn't care for it. Feel free to substitute in the awful near-future cyberpunk movie of your choice - maybe Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man, or Barb Wire. They both qualify.

What was wrong with the 5th Element? Pretty good flick.

Rausch 09-16-2012 11:19 PM

I love the idea of this flick.

All travel is simply the manipulation of energy to move.

It just gets more complicated the more you want to move.

Yay ... But most time travel movies just end up pissing me off. You really have to turn off your brain to be entertained.

The more I read about this movie, the more cluster****y it becomes. Will be interesting to see how they pull it off.

Saw this trailer as a commercial.

Thought it looked stupid just like "Jumper" was.

Joseph Gordon Levitt seems to be a busy little beaver since his Dark Knight Rises role.

Richard_Cuckold 09-18-2012 10:15 AM

This is getting insanely good reviews.
Count me in!

Consensus: As thought-provoking as it is thrilling, Looper delivers an uncommonly smart, bravely original blend of futuristic sci-fi and good old-fashioned action.

I can't wait to see it Friday. Might catch The Master too, for an unconventional double-feature.

I didn't hate Jumper, but that movie pissed me off because of all the cool stuff they could have done w/ the premise of Jumpers. I think that would be best served as a 1 hr sitcom or something because I think it would be very interesting if done right.

-King- 09-28-2012 09:02 PM

Nobody saw it today?

Richard_Cuckold 09-29-2012 04:09 AM

it was REALLY good
Bruce Willis kicks ass in this

keg in kc 09-29-2012 12:25 PM

Just saw it. Best movie I've seen in a long time. Maybe a masterpiece, though I'll want to see it a few more times.

Good movie. But not even close to a masterpiece though. LMAO

He's quickly becoming one of my favorite actors. The wife an I may check this flick out this weekend.

The thing I found funny was that Young Joe was a bitch compared to Old Joe who Pwned everyone and everything.

Rian Johnson's released an in-theater mp3 commentary track.

Saw it, thought it was great and really appreciate how they promoted the movie. Without revealing anything, I think they were very smart in not giving away too much about the movie, even though you already know some of the basics just from watching the trailer.

I had originally said this was "great" over in the 'Movies' thread, but after giving it some more thought I have to retract that statement.

While I do like the fresh-ish idea concerning the use of time travel, but anytime you mess with time travel, you really just end up ****ing up continuity (see: Terminator).

Spoiler!

EDIT: It was a great watch, for sure, just not technically a great movie in my opinion..

-King- 01-06-2013 02:12 PM

Yeah, it's a good movie only and only if you don't actually think about it. When you do, it unravels quick.

I didn't mind the makeup for JGL. Hell, i thought he played a really kick ass younger version of Willis. Had practically all of his mannerisms down.

MahiMike 01-06-2013 07:02 PM

Looks cool. This kid is in everything now. Did nothing for 10 yrs after 3rd rock. Good stuff.

Bewbies 01-06-2013 10:12 PM

I loved this one.

I had intended to watch this some time ago, but it slipped my mind until I had a chance to recently.

Plot holes, time-travelling mess-ups or not.. Looper is one of my favorites.
