I guess I can get that, as it's not really explained why the final explosion wouldn't be the permanent ending with said people dead for good

That was a question I had at the time - how did the Omega's blood not only bring Cruise back to life, but start him over before all the events of the movie took place?

i had just one issue with the movie. The clichéd "if you get to the central, most powerful being and kill it, they will all die", type of Alien. Otherwise, these aliens were scary, in that they were mowing guys to pieces, with little weaknesses.

1) Do you realize that he has to start over with Rita (Emily)? Before the final mission, she would have had his babies no questions asked. Now, all he is going to get is maybe a first date.....I wonder if he could kill himself if the date goes south? :)

2) Did he gain immortality? As long as he doesn't get a transfusion....its live forever....whether a bullet, car accident, or heart attack at the age of 95...dead is dead..,so in 40 years, he wakes up on the helicopter again.

3) Would you risk telling the General that YOU saved the day...write a book...run for president? Or do you and Rita keep quiet, start a bio technology company and sell products derived from your blood?

I wish they would have explained the choice to send him into battle a little clearer. Or gave a reason for it. I mean it seemed kind of weird to take a "marketing" guy and throw him into the front lines.
