that's because the chiefs can't stop the run and they haven't been able to in decades --since the nineties. but we'll keep this our lil secret.

When they do, it will be a win win because we will either fail bad enough as a team to pick high enough for a legit qb in the draft or win enough games to not really need to.

I think I've seen all of Quinns starts and came away disgusted and very unimpressed, but maybe he is a late bloomer that just needed some time to "get it"...he sure wouldn't be the first qb that happened to.

Are there any qbs coming out next year that are worth it? There is barkley, but he is usc product.

The point is Croyle started 10 games and we know he sucks, even without the injury tag. Quinn has proven nothing positive in his time in the league. The three wins he has as a starter are all like the Cassel win over SD to start 2010. When the Browns were able to take Quinn out of the game, they won. Denver didn't like him any better. They passed him over in 2010 and 2011 with Tim Tebow. Quinn = fail

Again, Croyle was a 3rd rounder. 1st round QBs should get at least 3 seasons.

David Carr got 5 seasons in Houston.

Their body of work should count more than where they were drafted. Good Lord, what a reach.

Proof is in the pudding and the numbers don't lie. Quinn, at this point in time has a WORSE QB Rating than Croyle. That is fact.

The fact that he is a first rounder should give you, your first clue, that the Browns wanted him to succeed and gave him chances to succeed.

Nothing wrong with supporting a player, but some of you are so desperate for a QB, you're not looking at the facts.

Thats not a reach at all.

The fact is, 1st rd QBs are given more than a season to prove their worth.

Look at Eli Manning's first 2 seasons. Awful.

... and yet, TWO NFL teams already walked away from him and the third team put him on a one year deal.

Great, you like him and see him as the franchise QB of the future.

When they play like dogshit and have a worse QB rating than Croyle, I'm not hitching my wagon to that. You choose to, fine by me, I'm just trying to point out some facts hoping some of it will hit home with a few reasonable thinkers.

carr looked more like jim everett. cassel watches his WR's get open, then covered, then open.... then covered..... then......

BossChief 05-26-2012 06:00 PM

That Browns team had a ****ed situation when they took Quinn.

Derek Anderson had a good year while they let Quinn sit and learn and DA had a chance to have another one and I think splitting first team reps with Quinn in 08 hurt both players.

More proof that you must be decisive in the NFL...no half steppin.

Derek Anderson should have continued to be the unquestioned starter and got every single snap in practice with the 1s.

Instead, they split snaps and neither guy was ready and the progress that team was making got flushed down the toilet.

Quinn only had one game that he played well for Cleveland and it happened after having a completely ineffective previous game and after his good game (can't remember who the opponent was) he laid an egg the next week. Iirc he has two sub 100 yard games with a 250 game in the middle.

Yes, and yet some are clamoring for dogshit at the position and claiming Cleveland didn't give a first rounder a fair shake.

WORSE QB RATING than Brodie "out of the league" Croyle.

Because of the reaction on CP. Because people are making 300+ post threads over a QB who's has accomplished less in his career than Jamarcus Russell did in one year.

I'm not going to jump on Stanzi's or Quinns dick just because Cassel sucks and yeah, I think it's hilarious that people are doing just that when neither of them have done shit and pretty much aren't expected to do shit by anyone other than their CP fan bases.

In 2009 he had a 4 game span where he went:

Ravens - 13 for 31 for 99 yards and 2 INTs.
Lions - 21 for 33 for 304 yards and 4 TDs.
Bengals - 15 for 34 for 100 yards and a rushing TD.
Chargers - 25 for 45 for 271 yards and 3 TDs.

The Ravens defense is ****ing tough.....especially back then....and that was his first start after 6 game span of sitting on the bench. So his bad game in that stretch was against the Bengals.....who won the AFC North that year.

Quinn has done nothing for 5 years and I don't expect him to start producing now. All the coaching staffs he's been through thought he was a backup quarterback and I'm not inclined to think otherwise. Especially since the best QB he's had to beat out was Kyle Orton. If he wasn't exceptionally better than Orton then I don't see what all the hoopla is about.

Show me where I said Believe.

You guys are just arguing to argue.

I dont think Quinn will amount to a pile of shit. I was glad that we didnt draft him. I said as much 5 yrs ago.

I'm arguing this because I HOPE he can beat out Cassel.

Hope.

Thats why I'm pulling for him.

I may be wrong about this, but I'm not wrong about players signing before a tryout.

Players get a tryout, then get offered a contract based on that tryout.

Poe isnt under contract right now.

So it's his fault that they lost to the Lions in 2009 when he threw for almost 300 yards and 4 TDs? Or how about the Chargers when he threw for almost 300 yards and 3 TDs? Sounds to me like he was one of the only reasons that they were in those two games.

Oh...and two different head coaches picked Tebow over Quinn because there was no realistic chance that Quinn was going to beat out Tebow for that starting job. Matt Cassel wouldn't have beat out Tebow for that starting job.

According to that, he was never offered a contract.

I hear ya. Quinn wasn't really given a shot. And he probably won't get a chance in KC sadly. Management is just too committed to Cassel.

If Quinn was truly good enough, Elway and Fox would have had no problem with startin him over Tebow. Sure the fans might not like it, but it's not a GMs job to do what the fans like. If the fan pressure caused Tebow to start over Quinn, then the difference between Tebow and Quinn is pretty negligible.

Quinn was actually #2 on the depth chart. The fans were calling for Tebow and the Broncos listened. They were actually making packages for Quinn in the playoffs incase they needed to pass. I don't know about you, but I'd prefer a QB who can throw on my team.

I'm pulling for Quinn. If Quinn succeeds and becomes our franchise QB, then the city of Cleveland will burn to the ground. That is a future that I want to live in.

ROFLROFL

I know someone pointed to Quinn's Lions and Chargers game stats. Has Cassel ever shown he can do that in any game? Cassel has always had a lot more to work with than Quinn did too.

You are a complete idiot if you think Quinn doesn't have the talent and hasn't shown flashes.

Damn straight. Cassel seems like a nice guy, but I really want him to die of antifreeze-infused AIDS. He really sucks and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

He has.

With Randy Moss and the Patriots.

I'm sorry SNR, I'm drunk and I may have missed the entire meat of your argument, but Cassel was damn lucky. Damn lucky. Cassel must have snorted up ground up leprechaun to achieve that 11-5 season. Throwing it up to Randy Moss every chance he got must have wonders, but he ****ing sucks now and needs to be dealt with. I don't mean kill him, but force him to realize that he sucks and leave this franchise alone.
