South Padre Island?
 

I'm going next week and it's my first time down there so I don't know what to expect. Has anyone ever been there?

You should expect dirty gulf water, sun, and plenty of dudes ogling your back bruises. They'll assume you're kinky so take some mace.

I can tell you one thing. Don't get drunk and get inked. Couple of guys I know came back with tats that they severely regretted. Sure I mean, getting Poon-Master on your back sounds like a good idea at the time...

Its kind of a trashy beach but can be a good place to party.

Might have some problems with tropical storm Emily though.

I spent several spring breaks down there and had a hell of a time. Unfortinately, outside of spring break, I think it's a pretty boring town. Maybe things have changed since I was there, but most the locals said it was lame if it wasn't March.

So so beaches, with lots of sea weed. The water is actually cleaner than at any other beach I have been to along the Gulf Coast.

And Mexico is near by.....

Does SPI still have all those damn jellyfish in the surf? IIRC, they were Man-O-Wars; big suckers too.
