I mainly want the ps3 for the BR player, 40 more gigs of space isnt that big of a deal right? I know it isn't backwards compatible, which is kindve annoying but i dont have ps2 games anymore anyway

na, the 40 is good bro. besides its easy to swap the HD's if need be. im ok with 40 (what i have) but the 20 would worry me. id be afriad of running out of space to fast with all the game installations and what not.

Appreciate it, it would mainly be used as a BR player anyway but if i get the knack for gaming id like it to have decent space, sounds good. I got an xbox360 for my gaming needs, thanks to a friend.

hmm, then if its just a cheap BR player you might be ok but...if theres the chance that youd go gaming then yes the 40 would be optimum. I have a Wii, 360 and ps3 (not in that order though, i just got my ps3 last week I LOVE IT!! over my 360.) if i were you and you simply love your 360 then do not attempt games on PS3.....you will be hooked!

if only Bioshock was pn ps3 .... it would be unstoppable. BIOSHOCK is simply the best game to come out in the last 3 years. (sorry for changing the subject ;) )

80G has wireless internet, a card reader, and more usb slots.

40g has wireless too (i only know that b/c its what I use ;) ) as for the rest you are correct but for the average non-tech average Joe (me) those items don’t play much in the decision making process IMHO. I did consider those when I pondered which model to get and i decided on the 40 b/c the card readers and extra slots would sit there unused. I have my PC for the card readers for video and pictures, I don’t have a PSP so I don’t need to worry about memory stick readers, the most ill use is two controllers at once and or one controller with a headset.

i think the way SCEA is marketing the PS3 is very annoying b/c they almost push consumers away from the high end models. i hate bundles and i hate making decisions as to which model to get. either way you look at it the consumer always seems to lose because they (we) either pay too much (for items that go unused or space on a bigger HDD that is unused) or not enough (as you do need to have the extra USB's, card readers, backwards compatibility, etc..) for the system that you wanted in the first place.

Yeah i want it mainly for the cheap BR player and being the most updateable one to date. I do have a 360 cause my friend "loaned" it to me and all of his games. Basically i will own it since he plays cpu games and he never touches the xbox. I will likely play some games on ps3 as well, the 40gig vers. seems more for me as well cause i dont need to play games ALL the time, but need enough space so if i want to play a game and am hooked. I am excited to get one hopefully within the next paycheck or 2. I was going to get an 80gig, but its way too expensive and i dont think i will be a HARDCORE gamer, even though i do play the xbox quite a bit.

I am ready to own a ps3/br player for sure. Can't wait to get it...

Well it should get better for you even though Tiny will not admit it.. They are getting rid of the bigger model and going with the 40 gig.. Just like the PS2 you will be able to buy it in two colors.. And depending on how bluray sales go(ie if cheaper stand alones come out and start to detract people from buying the PS3 they will drop the price)..

i think the BR is a huge boost for PS3...as its the cheapest player out there! i just wish Sony would quit with the PS2 games already!

and wow i just got an email from MS saying that GoW2 is comming in Nov!!! talk about sweet and just in time for the holidays. this season should rock for games on all platforms.

BR is the main reason why i am getting a PS3. The format war is over and digital downloads of movies are still years away, so why not.

my god man Bioshock 2 is the most wonderful / scary thing on this earth. it could easily be the best and worst game of all time trumping ET and Ishtar (yes i know ishtar wasnt a game) i still hate ppl who dis bioshock..that games storytelling and gameplay is truly innovative.
