Round 2 mocks

Here's NFL draft countdown's.

http://www.draftcountdown.com/sub/Mock-Draft-2.php

33 JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: TYLER WILSON, QB, ARKANSAS
Scouting Report
Blaine Gabbert may get one more opportunity but some competition and insurance is needed.

34 KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: XAVIER RHODES, CB, FLORIDA ST.
Scouting Report
Brandon Carr was allowed to walk as a free agent last offseason and still hasn't been replaced.

35 PHILADELPHIA EAGLES: MATT ELAM, S, FLORIDA
Scouting Report
Safety is still a need despite investing two second round picks on the position in recent years.

36 DETROIT LIONS: DESMOND TRUFANT, CB, WASHINGTON
Scouting Report
Athletic, confident cover guy with pro bloodlines is exactly what the doctor ordered in Motown.

37 CINCINNATI BENGALS (f/OAK): ERIC REID, S, L.S.U.
Scouting Report
Playmaker in coverage and run support could be the impact safety Cincy has been searching for.

38 ARIZONA CARDINALS: MENELIK WATSON, OT, FLORIDA ST.
Scouting Report
Extremely raw and very inexperienced but possesses a truly rare blend of size and athleticism.

CLEVELAND BROWNS:

Selection Used in Supplemental Draft (Josh Gordon)

39 NEW YORK JETS: MIKE GLENNON, QB, NORTH CAROLINA ST.
Scouting Report
Mark Sanchez is running out of chances and at the absolute least a reliable backup is needed.

40 TENNESSEE TITANS: ALEX OKAFOR, DE, TEXAS
Scouting Report
Kamerion Wimbley disappointed and Derrick Morgan hasn't emerged as an impact pass rusher.

41 BUFFALO BILLS: RYAN NASSIB, QB, SYRACUSE
Scouting Report
Hard to argue with idea of reuniting new Head Coach Doug Marrone with his college protégé.

42 MIAMI DOLPHINS: TAVON AUSTIN, WR, WEST VIRGINIA
Scouting Report
Even if the Phins sign a top free agent pass catcher at least one more playmaker will be needed.

43 TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS: KAWANN SHORT, DT, PURDUE
Scouting Report
Underrated Roy Miller is a free agent and there is little in the way of quality depth to speak of.

44 CAROLINA PANTHERS: JORDAN POYER, CB, OREGON ST.
Scouting Report
Josh Norman struggled mightily at times as a rookie while Captain Munnerlyn is a free agent.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS:

Selection Forfeited as Part of Punishment for "Bounty Gate" Scandal

45 SAN DIEGO CHARGERS: GIOVANNI BERNARD, RB, NORTH CAROLINA
Scouting Report
Reliable backup / compliment or perhaps a replacement for the injury-prone Ryan Mathews.

46 ST. LOUIS RAMS: TERRANCE WILLIAMS, WR, BAYLOR
Scouting Report
Organization is still looking for a pass catcher who would quality as an impact, go-to target.

47 DALLAS COWBOYS: TRAVIS FREDERICK, C / OG, WISCONSIN
Scouting Report
Despite efforts to upgrade last offseason the team still has issues on the interior of the o-line.

48 PITTSBURGH STEELERS: EDDIE LACY, RB, ALABAMA
Scouting Report
It doesn't look like free agent Rashard Mendenhall will return so a new workhorse is needed.

49 NEW YORK GIANTS: ARTHUR BROWN, LB, KANSAS ST.
Scouting Report
Outside of Mathias Kiwanuka the G-Men may have more questions than answers at linebacker.

50 CHICAGO BEARS: GAVIN ESCOBAR, TE, SAN DIEGO ST.
Scouting Report
Kellen Davis failed to emerge as a playmaker in the passing attack so an upgrade is required.

51 WASHINGTON REDSKINS: DATONE JONES, DE, UCLA
Scouting Report
There are no difference-makers up front, especially at end which is occupied by journeymen.

52 MINNESOTA VIKINGS: LOGAN RYAN, CB, RUTGERS
Scouting Report
Antoine Winfield will be 36-years-old and their young cover guys are still relatively unproven.

53 CINCINNATI BENGALS: MONTEE BALL, RB, WISCONSIN
Scouting Report
BenJarvus Green-Ellis is solid but unspectacular and Cincy could do better at running back.

54 MIAMI DOLPHINS (f/IND): ROBERT ALFORD, CB, SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA
Scouting Report
A replacement for Vontae Davis is still needed plus Sean Smith is going to be a free agent.

55 GREEN BAY PACKERS: BARRETT JONES, C, ALABAMA
Scouting Report
Jeff Saturday was merely a stop-gap in the pivot and a long-term solution is still required.

56 SEATTLE SEAHAWKS: KHASEEM GREENE, OLB, RUTGERS
Scouting Report
It appears as though Leroy Hill's days are numbered so a replacement is needed on weakside.

57 HOUSTON TEXANS: JESSE WILLIAMS, DL, ALABAMA
Scouting Report
Played both the nose and five-technique in odd front in college and will provide quality depth.

59 DENVER BRONCOS: LARRY WARFORD, OG, KENTUCKY
Scouting Report
Exactly the type of massive, powerful blocker the organization is searching for on the interior.

59 NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS: ROBERT WOODS, WR, USC
Scouting Report
There has been speculation that both Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd could be sent packing.

60 ATLANTA FALCONS: CORNELLIUS CARRADINE, DE, FLORIDA ST.
Scouting Report
Emerged as a likely first rounder and a potential Top 10 pick before knee injury in November.

61 SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS: JUSTIN HUNTER, WR, TENNESSEE
Scouting Report
Randy Moss is a shell of his former self and Mario Manningham is coming off a major injury.

62 BALTIMORE RAVENS: DAVID AMERSON, S, NORTH CAROLINA ST.
Scouting Report
Rangy, ballhawking centerfielder could be a perfect replacement for the 35-year-old Ed Reed.

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes.

But won't happen.

Hammock Parties 02-20-2013 09:14 AM

Immediate reaction: **** passing on those WRs. I'd rather have Hunter, Woods or Austin at this pick.

Uh, we have the first pick of round 3. Move up 3 spots and take Hunter, still get Rhodes...

RUSH 02-20-2013 09:52 AM

Cyprien not in the first two rounds? No chance. I like him over Rhodes if both are there. Just think he's a better player and both are positions of need.

I wouldn't be happy if the Chiefs take any of the 2nd round wrs in this mock over either though.

Markus Wheaton in the third with Geno and Rhodes/Cyprien before him is my dream draft. Wheaton fits exactly what the Chiefs need across from Bowe, I'm a big fan.

Looking at this mock and others just reinforces how deep this draft is. Incredible depth. Good year to have 5 picks in the top 100.

OMG BONER

Cosmos 02-20-2013 10:48 PM

High likelihood that the first pick in the second round is going to be a QB.

Multiple QB' s rated around that level, KC picking 2nd will mean other teams needing a QB will want to jump up, a whole day between rounds time to make a deal, or Jacksonville will take one for themselves, just like this mock.

Mother****erJones 02-20-2013 11:15 PM

If we dont upgrade this in free agency then yes. We can get a WR like Jennings in FA.

RunKC 02-21-2013 04:25 AM

I would love this. Markus Wheaton, Stedman Bailey and Quinton Patton are still on the board.

I would be ecstatic if we could get one of those WR's in round 3.
