I can't believe any of this shit coming out about Geno.

They traded #34 and a 2014 conditional 3rd for Alex Smith. That tells me Alex is more than just a stopgap. Then they sign Daniel to $3mil/year. Now all of a sudden they are "fascinated" by Geno.

They are either the 2 biggest dumbasses for having traded 2 high picks for Alex, instead of drafting Geno and letting him and Daniel battle it out for #1, or they are just trying to drive the shitty offers they have for the #1 pick up.

Assuming "it" refers to the refusal of KC to draft a possible franchise quarterback and trying retread after retread, hopefully soon. :thumb:

Or.....

we've been so conditioned on bad, hack QB play, that we're not prepared for a regime that is actually going to place emphasis on putting the best QB behind center for the chiefs.

maybe dorsey wants to win now and win later?

Strongside 03-27-2013 01:05 PM

We now need to bring in Tebow and draft Geno to complete the greatest quarterback circus the world has ever seen. The traded castoff vs. the number one overall pick vs. the hometown hero vs. God's soldier. It would be glorious.

We have a lot of players that need to win now and maybe they want to make sure that happens by throwing numbers at the position.

Washington invested far more into their quarterbacks position last year.

ya ya I hate AS too but he is by far the most ready to win qb we could of acquired this offseason going into next season. Signing misserys finiest daniel to be our backup lets Geno sit completely free of needing to start next year. The following year he can compete for the starting spot or maybe even 2 or 3 years down the road depending on how AS performs. Dorsey did it with Rodgers and look how that worked out.
Im still holding out for Geno. Dont crush my dream

8-8 or 2-14. Makes no difference to me. Losing is losing.

Wasted 2 picks on Alex when they could have been used on players that might be useful for when a QB like Geno is ready to step in.

All of this Smokescreen talk is ridiculous. Teams have a limited number of prospects they can can set up private workouts with. They're not going to waste a visit on a "smokescreen".

Geno is a top 10 Player. The Chiefs will visit with most, if not all of the top 10 players and then adjust their board accordingly. This has nothing to do with a smokescreen and everything to do with them doing their due diligence.

There's no reason that Geno needs to sit.

However, if Reid does think he needs some time, whats the difference between playing Alex or Daniel? Assuming they didn't trade for Alex, do you think the end result would be different with Daniel starting? I don't. They aren't going to win a SB next year.

You win now by not drafting an immediate starter in the first two rounds?

Im not working out Geno in person so im only saying this from what I read. Geno isnt ready to walk straight in and start. Let him sit a year or 2

Not really...that's why at this point in the movie Id rather hope that the iceberg only hit 2 compartments even though I know that's not the truth...at least until it's been confirmed that the ship is going down FOR SURE.

We'll see. I'm betting he isn't sitting on the bench for w/e team ends up with him.

penbrook 03-27-2013 04:32 PM

This isnt the first time The Chiefs were fascinated by Geno.

Right after the combine Tj Carpenter of 810 sports came out and said the Chiefs FO were blown away by Geno at the combine and really really liked him.

Imagine how much more impressed they were after his pro day!!

I don't buy that bullshit.

He either ends up in a good situation with good coaching and succeeds or he doesn't.

There's nothing better than actual game experience. He may not be hot shit his first year but if he is going to succeed in the NFL I don't think that playing him year 1 is going to devastate his growth and ruin him as a QB.

If Geno goes to the Raiders he will fail and same with the Jaguars. They dont have coaching there for him.

However the Eagles and Chiefs do!!

Remember Alex Smith did not get an extension. He has 2 years on his contract. Say Alex does average the next 2 years Geno can step in right away and produce quickly because of the coaching. It will be the same situation with Rodgers and Favre.

I think this is smoke to build value. Prob draft QB next yr or 2nd this yr. 1-1 too valuable for what s on the table at QB. It isn't as though they'll retire the position after this draft.
