I need help!
Does anyone know how to figure a overall score for a class? It is weighted with test scores being higher than homework and such. Ids like to know if I passed or not and I dont know how to do the weighted scores.

You'd have to post how they are weighted for anyone to help you...

Exam #1 = 25% of final grade, say you get a 94% on that exam. You get 23.5 out of 25% on your final grade. Exam #2 = 25% of final grade, you get a 90% on that exam. You get 22.5% out of 25%. Homework: 20%, you get 100% avg on homeworks. You get all 20%. Lab: 20%, you get 85% in the lab. You get 17% out of 20%. Quizzes: 10%, you get 90% avg on quizzes. You get 9% out of 10%. Add it all up. 23.5 + 22.5 + 20 + 17 + 9 = 92%, A- or A depending on if the prof is a douche bag or not. |

oh ok, thanks. |
With out knowing the scale, there is no way to help you really, I guess I can use an example.
Say tests equal 50% of your grade. Homework is 40% and Participation is 10%... Now say you had 3 tests, you got an 78, an 82, and an 80 so your average is 80... 50% of your grade is now an 80% Lets say you had 5 homework assignments, and the average grade on each one is 90%. You got a 90 for 40% of your grade. Now for participation, you went to class everyday and always completed the minimum requirments for participation, meaning you get 100 for participation. Now take each variable times it weight and add them together. 80 * .5 = 40 90 * .4 = 36 100 * .1 = 10 Total grade = 86% |
Since there is nothing you can do about your grade now, I say forget it and get drunk*

I hope I'm wrong, but I came up with you getting a 59 or 60 percent... Then I'm no math major myself, and I used a calculator that came with a box of cereal and the back of my credit card statement, so I'm pretty sure I'm wrong.

Yeah I know, but I just didnt want to fail and I needed a C to move on to College Algebra. Of course to pass that class it will take a lot of tutoring. |
