Sadly, we all know that's not going to happen. :shake:

@miklasz: Chris Carpenter told me that watching Wacha pitch brought back the feelings he had in his famous Game 5 NLDS win at Philly in 2011.

@miklasz: I asked Carpenter to describe the feeling: "Give me the ball and get the hell out of the way."

Wacha does seem to have some carp mentality. I saw him get fired up after striking out someone with a curve to end an inning

Lance Salas

I remember how LaRussa sticking with brokedick McGwire killed us against the Diamondbacks in 2000. I just hope Matheny doesn't do the same thing with Lynn.

So I'll be honest, I didn't watch a lot in late September, so I don't know Matheny's rationale...

But I hope to GOD that should we win Wednesday, Shelby pitches Game 1 of the NLCS.

Lynn's a goddamn train wreck.

Lynn is barely more steady than Westbrook at this point. You're right, he can't be a starter going forward this year. Put him in the pen. He's more used to it than Miller for sure.

We're already getting rid of Westbrook for next year. So you have rotation of Wainwright, Miller, Kelly and Wacha for next year. Still need a 5th. Still need depth in case of injury. I don't think Lyons has the confidence. Garcia should be treated as Mulder at this point, probably won't be back. Martinez is probably not rotation ready. We need to keep Lynn, but Matheny needs to know his limits. He cannot ever possibly step out for the the 7th inning. He needs plenty of rest and will probably have to be shut down at least once during the season.

Fairly shocked that Mattingly's going with Kershaw tonight. Hope it comes back to bite him in the ass later.

Simply Red 10-07-2013 06:16 PM

I hope the Braves hit Kershaw w/ a line-drive in the forehead tonight. They MUST be concerned. I will take him on three days versus 4 day rest, any damn day.

They will be fired up over this. If they aren't they should be.

Simply Red 10-07-2013 06:21 PM

I'm shocked the Braves struggled w/ LA so much. But they may have finally met their match. Though they won the regular season match up. We'll see, I hope they fight for it tonight.

Pitching Martinez in the 8th may be a tip that he is going to use him next year as a closer. Let Rosenthal go to the rotation.

Waino
Miller
Wacha
Kelly
Rosenthal

Trade Lynn/Freese/Adams/Wong in some sort of combination to get a SS

O.city 10-07-2013 06:26 PM

Adams isn't going anywhere.

You want a good SS? Your going to have to give up something good.

Any chance we get Furcal back, or did the fat lady stab him with a fork?
