I'd just like to do this to the CEO of Biostar:

I tried the RAM in my desktop. Worked fine.
I connected the PSU to an old working build. Fired up.
I took the motherboard completely out of the case to test them, to remove the possibility of a wiring short. Wouldn't post.
I used the power switch wiring from another case.
The mobo from the HTPC has a momentary switch on the board. I plugged it directly into a known working PSU. It still wouldn't post.
I tried the video card in another build. Worked fine. I tried a known, working video card in the mobos in question and they wouldn't output a video signal.
I tried my television. I tried a monitor. I tried a VGA cable, a DVI cable, and multiple HDMI cables on multiple inputs. None of them worked with the mobos in question.

There is literally no other permutation of possibilities I can think of .

Yea.. once you have pulled the CPU and checked it in known working mobo or vice versa, then I would say the only thing left is literally the mobo.. but how do you get 3 doa mobos inrow. wow..

I have a q6600/asus p5ql/e with 8gb ddr2 I will sell you cheap :P perfect for HTPC

It's actually not a three in a row:

Two Biostar TA970's in a row were DOA out of the box, and my HTPC board, a Biostar TA880, shit the bed after three years three days ago.

Ah. Well, I have used some biostar boards with customer builds in the past without problems, but just from your experiences I think I will stay away from them. what a nightmare

I'll throw my hat in the ring. I have been using a local wireless broadband provider. Their speed has gotten progressively slower and I'm tired of it. So I switched to ATT Uverse. After a rather arduous process of getting the bastard router set up, I finally got Wifi.

So I go to set my TV up, get it hooked up to wifi, works fine. Amazon doesn't work.

I snapped a pic of the wifi connection.

This is what it tells me when I try to access the amazon app.

I tried to log onto the app anyway, and see if there was anything I could do. I tried to decouple the TV from my app, but it requires a connection. There really isn't any other settings that I can find.

This is ridiculously frustrating.

Does anybody have any idea WTF is going on?

I can't see your pics for some reason.

At any rate, it sounds like something is interfering with your connection to the internet, like maybe the firewall on the Uverse router or something.

Apparently wife hit enough buttons to make it work. She changed precisely 0 setting, but magically it started ****ing working.

Goddamn it that shit pisses me off. Ever since I opened that goddamned box, not one thing has worked like the instructions said to.

I haven't been able to get any devices to connect with any security password other than the default one. I got on chat with the ATT support guy and did what he told me, and no devices would even connect to the router, much less enter the ****ing code

I'm always amazed at how many people I find have never seen or even heard of this movie.

Some good news: NewEgg is offering me a full refund for the board and the original RMA cost as well as shipping the second one who sucks the penis back for free.

Every time you turn on your TV you need to give it time to connect.

Our large Panasonic connects to the net extremely fast, and our 42" Panasonic in the basement den takes a lot longer.

Frustrating.

Yeah. It was on for like an hour. And I could access the network and pull down a bandwidth test.

Never had a single problem with the amazon app before.
