What's the purpose of today's qualifying and Thursday's Duel Race?


They should do without the duel race and just have qualifying.

kinda like one big jerk off session to get the stars on the track racing as much as possible.

Personally I would rather see them race for qualifying position like the duels at every race. Have them draw numbers for starting position in there heats. That would be one way to get rid of the field fillers guys that only want to qualify and then pack it up after two laps on the track.

Wow.....I'm a Jeff fan, and I hate to see him not win (I'm having to get really used to it though!!), but that was one hell of a wreck to walk away from. Wow, the way they're building these cars is amazing!

I would also like to get rid of locking in the top 35 while we're making changes.

Danica's got the goods, she just doesn't have the time put in yet.

I don't get Speed channel, so I've got the NASCAR.com Race Buddy going, along with Motor Racing Network's radio feed online. It's pretty awesome.

I'm not sure what she's got. But, drivers get their NASCAR seat time in Truck Series and Nationwide Series, not in the Cup Series.

Edit: Congratulations to John King for his win in the Truck Series Daytona Race! What a ride!

Sauter threw Todd Blowdine under the bus after the race.

Sauter bumped plenty of drivers out of the way for a solid finish. Down the road someone else will return the favor.

The way I saw it -- King pushes Sauter into the lead, but Bodine drills King into Sauter in turn four, causing Sauter to spin out.


Mike Skinner luckily escaped this crash. Sauter ran down into him, which led to Skinner spinning out, and getting t-boned by another driver. I remember Skinner calling Sauter an f word idiot for almost killing him.

2012 NCWTS NextEra Energy Resources 250 Feb 25, 2012

Scary. Miguel Paludo and Joey Coulter miraculously escaping uninjured despite taking horrendous hits on Friday.

Reports later said two fans were injured -- one fan was transported to the hospital when hit by debris from Coulter's truck hitting the catch fence. Paludo's crash was similar to Danica's wreck during the Gatorade Duel on Thursday.

Thank God for safer barriers.

(Todd) Bodine, (Johnny) Sauter and (Ron) Hornaday completes a trilogy of all future wrecks waiting to happen.

We lost a spark plug wire earlier in the race and they figured it out, got it fixed and we made a big run there at the end. We got hooked up to the 20 car and I thought we had a shot on the top. I thought we would clear the 1 car but unfortunately those guys have been packing air on everybody all day long. Kyle (Busch) and Kurt (Busch) had been working hard at that and they started packing air on us and it slowed us down enough that the 33 could get outside. I haven’t seen it yet but I know it was a really tight squeeze. We still finished 11th, which is a great run for our 60 car. We are trying to make the most out of these first three races and hopefully be leading the points so we can keep racing. We have to get some funding so we can keep doing it. That finish was crazy. I thought for sure Joey and I were going to have a shot to win that thing.”
