PC to TV Streaming - Wireless
 

I have a ton of content (TV Shows, Movies & Music) on my desktop that I much rather watch on my 55" LED TV than my 21" monitor in my bedroom.

I have a PS3 hooked up to the T.V. but that doesn't allow me to use files over 4gb, so 720p & 1080p videos can't be watched due to the FAT32 issue.

What's the best route to go about this wirelessly?

use an external drive connected to your computer formatted as NTFS for storage. Depending on your connection it may work fine.

And then use TVersity or another program to stream to my PS3?

I use media server but I like serviio a little better. I live by it

Truth. I use AirVideo to transcode MKVs on the fly and push them to the AppleTV.

I second this. I just got a PS3 and this software has worked fantastic so far.

The newest version is called Universal Media Server 2.1.1, since now the software not only works with PS3, but with XBox and some other devices as well.

Serviio is another option that I have used to stream to devices in the past, and it worked okay, but I would put what I mentioned above a notch above it.

You may want to considered a wired connection to your PS3. Wireless connections are great things, but nothing beats an old fashioned cat 5/cat 6 cable run to your router, in terms of speed and reliability.

Interesting. I used Serviio to stream to my Blu-ray player, and then to my PS3, but found the UMS worked better.

I had the best luck with Serviio myself.

That blog lists some work-arounds, and it sounds like a better solution is being worked on. DVDFab is the some of the best software around, so I imagine they will have a solution eventually.
