This is one of those things that seems so goddamn random, if I didn't absolutely know it's real, I'd swear it's a joke.

I get it that people are gay.

I also get that people are furries, like Sorter. Although that shit is gross.

What I honestly don't get is why it has to specifically be ponies.

Why does it have to be the cartoon version of MLP.

Why is this the show that a bunch of twinky furries circulate around?

I don't know what's going on.

I've never seen the new MLP, but I think the brony phenomenon is similar to adults who like watching Spongebob Squarepants as much as their kids do. They view the cartoon as well drawn with some good bits of humor that contain stories that make them care about the characters and the show as a whole.

But I don't think it goes much more beyond that. I haven't heard of a fetishization taking place with MLP or its new show. I might find it a bit disturbing if there's content out there on the net that does that.

Yes, it is a fetish. My daughter had liberal use of my iPad so she could watch Wii video game demos on YouTube. She stumbled on to MLP and wanted me to record it to our DVR.

I think the program itself is garbage and there's no educational value offered. But the related YouTube videos were extremely inappropriate for a five year old and pretty sick for a 48 year old.

It's somewhat amazing and scary how innocent programs can be shared by people over the internet and perverted.
