Chiefs pull the LT trifecta

http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2013/3...as-city-chiefs

KC not only privately working out Joeckel and Fisher but now Oklahoma's Lane Johnson. ;)

gblowfish 03-11-2013 01:09 PM

Why wouldn't the Chiefs pull their Johnson???

Like I've ****ing said before... They're doing their diligence on all the top prospects.

And they'll work out Geno Smith as well I'm sure. Same for Barkley. It's part of the process. So getting all discouraged over a workout with a player we don't like doesn't mean he's the #1 option.

How many private workouts are NFL teams allowed again? Anyone know?

KCrockaholic 03-11-2013 01:12 PM

We really want to trade down though.

If we want to trade down it's going to have to be for cheap.

We won't be raping a team of all their future draft picks if somebody wants a trade up. We'll have to give a discount this year.

I thought it was 8. But I'm not even sure where I got that number from. So don't hold me to that.

saphojunkie 03-11-2013 01:13 PM

They are seeing just how far they are willing to trade down. At the end of the day, either Fisher or Johnson is going to have a draft grade just as high as Joeckel.

KC will trade down to the highest bidder, no matter how low the bid is. Then they will take an OT.

Got to do their due diligence in case they're able to move down.

You're probably a lot closer than my guess. Like I said, I'm not sure why I felt 8 was the answer.

21 of 2011's 32 first-round picks visited or privately worked out for the team that drafted them.

Often the question is asked if the players a club brings in for a visit are players that the club is definitely interested in drafting. In some cases yes, but it also can serve as a smokescreen. In other words, bring in and publicize that you are bringing in certain players only to make other clubs think that you may be interested. - Scout Greg Gabriel
Interesting.

And thus far we sure do seem to have an interest in bringing in the top LT's. Making it appear that we're interested anyways.
