FFL Trade Help!

OK Here is what I have been offered

JJ Arrington
Tony Gonzalez
Ashley Lelie

for

Stephen Jackson
M. Pollard
M. Mason

My team as it is (Starters)

Delhomme, Jake
Jackson, Steven
Tomlinson, LaDainian
Burress, Plaxico
Horn, Joe
Mason, Derrick
Pollard, Marcus
Longwell, Ryan K
Eagles

Bledsoe, Drew
Anderson, Mike
Taylor, Fred
Toefield, LaBrandon
Colbert, Keary
Graham, Daniel TE
Walker, Javon WR GB

With J. Walker out for the year I'm hurting at WR, especially since I have to start 3, plus a TE.

I'm not keen on Mason, and think Lelie will put up solid #2 type numbers along with Burrass. I really would like Tony G since he can score like the top WRs, but I don't want to give up one of my top backs.

What if I offered Taylor, Mason and Pollard for Tony G, Arrington, and Lelie? I get a huge upgrade at TE for my back up RB who is an injury risk?

Thoughts?

You are already weak at RB, and I don't know that JJ will get it done for you in the long run. I'd turn it down, especially as much as tehy were feeding Mason and Pollard balls in their games.

I make the deal.

Fred Taylor and JJ will do ok. You know that Gonzo is the same as another WR.

And I don't like Stephan Jackson in the current Rams set up. I think they are going to be throwing the ball 45 times per game - because they will be behind and have a madman for a coach.

I want to know why you think I'm weak at RB? I have the Best RB in the game, Stephen Jackson didn't have a huge breakout game but howmany backs did last week. Fred Taylor scares me, he doesn't get TDs. If I can move him for Tony G I think I should jump on it.

JJ Arrington ran for 8 yards in the game Sunday..........

LOL! I missed Tomlinson. I wasn't sure how long Anderson was going to miss either. Still, I'm just not sure I would give up my number 2 RB for a couple tier 3 WR's.

J.J. Arrington is a fantasy bust this year. The early, 2 month old fantasy mags were high on him but he had an unspectacular preseason and it's clear that Green doesn't regard him as a feature back. If his 0.6 yards per carry against a team that allowed 4.5 per carry last year doesn't scare you, the fact that Marcel Shipp is stealing time from him ought to.

Don't do it. Reasons are already mentioned.

Dude please, always break it down:

JJ Arington (he plays in Arizona, remember?)
Vs Stephen Jackson = Jackson

Tony G vs. Pollard = Tony G

Lelie (QB is teh suxor) vs D. Mason (QB is teh ghey and suxors even teh worse - plus he's injured)
= no winner there at all

Do the right thing and do NOT make this deal, or counter offer his ass.
Bottom line is you win with Tony, LOSE with JJ and break even with Lelie

Another don't do it vote here. Arrington will end up on the WW in the next 2 weeks or so. The other owner may already be thinking about cutting him.

As for trades to strengthen your WR corps, I would look at the T. Bell owner's roster and see if he has a decent WR that can serve as your #2 or #3. Someone who you can use to play matchups with D. Mason and P. Burress. Horn is a must play IMO. Either trade MA to the Bell owner for the WR you want, or trade Taylor and Toefield for Bell and the WR you want.

Just some thoughts.

(DUDE READ THE THREAD) I was thinking about Countering with Taylor not Jackson. There is no way I can trade Jackson for that.

chagrin 09-13-2005 01:29 PM

I didn't mean any offense, it's just the way I talk and type, sorry

morphius 09-13-2005 01:37 PM

Even with the idea of trading Taylor, I just don't know that it is a great trade for you. I just have to wonder how much sharing is going to happen with Faulk and Jackson down the road, and Taylor gives you a better then average backup if any of your number one's go down.

Iowanian 09-13-2005 01:44 PM

I was just offered Dunn for Rudi Johnson.

meh.

Yeah, thats a good point. I think Pollard is probably better than I give him Credit for and Mason with a QB who can throw the ball for more than 5 yards might be a good #2. I think after seeing wht you guys think I should sit tight, even though I'd love to have TG on my team.
