Because these things are flying out the door as soon as they come available I'm making its own thread. They will likely be out of stock in the next 48 hours if not less and this thread can die in obscurity.

Meh. I went this route:

http://www.memorableplaces.com/m1gar...titlephoto.jpg

However, you could buy about 12 MNs for what I paid for it, so there is that. :D

notorious 02-08-2013 08:45 PM

What?

Buds is selling guns again? I thought they went strictly to ass-raping people through insane auctions.

I'm looking into an M1. Doesn't necessarily have to be a military issue but It would be nice. What's my best bet?

If you're willing to jump through some membership hoops, you could go the CMP route.

http://www.thecmp.org/sales/m1garand.htm

Personally, I wasn't, so this is where I got mine. They've got two listed, but unfortunately it looks like they're both sold. I'd just keep checking the site, and if they get one for sale, jump on it immediately. The pictures are of the rifle you get.

I didn't think it was that bad - I was expecting a 12 gauge-type kick, and it was nowhere near that.

I hate it. beats the hell out of my shoulder.
91/30 I have,has a nice cushy butt pad. I like it.
The cool factor /almost as many Nazi's had their heads smashed in with that butt plate as were shot by it.

Lever action guy myself. My Marlin 45/70 Lever action is so damn smooth and accurate

CrazyPhuD 02-08-2013 09:04 PM

The great thing about Chinese guns is that if you ever run out of lead for bullets you can just melt the gun down! :D

IMO it's so much less disruptive to pull the lever than dick around with the bolt.

I am not a big fan, either.

I will make an exception next year, though:

Would be interested in buying a glock, new. PM me if interested.

The batch I ordered through buds a month ago didn't have matching part serials, so I sent that shit back. There was a Russian sniper 7.62 on slickguns for like 600 and would be a better investment imo if u want "used"/serviced.

Got mÿ Mosin last year for Xmas... Never been shot, still in cosmoline and was built in the late 30's in Stalingrad. I shot it 6 times, made one adjustment after the 2nd shot then bullseye'd with the next 2 at 150 yards. Moved to 200 and shot 1 inch low, dead center.
Do it before they're outlawed man.

Gonzo 02-08-2013 10:18 PM

Im still glad I bought my Dragonov a few years ago before they got popular. (2002 I thnk?)
Got it for 300 and I can hit a Gatorade bottle at 500, a bowling ball at 850 and a cinder block at 1,000. This with a cheap-shit original redfield scope build in the early 70's. I'm putting a tru-glo scope on that bitch next year that adjusts for windage and has a range-finder. I'll be good out to a mile. (at least for human sized targets anyway)

I bought a Mosin last week from a buddy. I had never shot one before, and it was sold after about 12 rounds. Very accurate. Fun to shoot.

Funny I have 2 of each of these but the price is outstanding, they suck as weapons though.

These will never be outlawed in a 1,000 lifetimes. No need to hurry unless they run out of them.

the new assault rifle ban would outlaw these rifles due to the single feature rule. it has a bayonete.

demonhero 02-09-2013 12:26 AM

http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F3MOSIN9130 lets add another one to the mix.. this one includes bayonet.

I don't think there is any support for banning bolt action 5 shot rifles, none. These are collector guns and in no way would be considered assault rifle.

LMFAO

Oh yeah... I forgot about that part.

Hog's Gone Fishin 02-09-2013 07:41 AM

I got an M1 last year from a tenant that owed me $650 rent. It was issued in the Korean war.
