Gonna quit smoking tomorrow

I'm actually really afraid of this. Need to do it, hate that I do it now. In a great amount of fear that I'll fail.

I did like this vid, though (NSFW-language)

Just dont smoke, don't have cigarettes around you. Man up and be strong and stop saying you will fail. When you want to smoke just don't easy as that.

I quit chewing a couple months ago. Again. If you don't buy cigs you can't smoke them. If you don't enter places where they sell them it's easier to "not buy them". Pay at the pump. Don't go to the grocery store or walmart. It's not easy but it's not nearly as hard as we make it.

I quit back in '92 and never looked back.
If I can do it - you can do it.

It was easy for me. I just quit. period. No gum, no weaning off, no tips tricks or drugs.

Good luck!

You can pull it off. I so far havn't smoked from feb 8 this year. That is two months smoke free and I feel a hell of a lot better today than two months ago. Smoking made me sicker than hell & couldn't stop coughing or hacking up a lung it fealt.

BlackHelicopters 04-14-2013 02:31 PM

Good luck. Heard it was harder to kick than heroin.

Good for you. Fear is the best motivator. Smoking and obesity 2 of the most challenging to defeat because it is a 'moment by moment commitment' to every second of every day that most fail at conquering.

Keep asking yourself, do I really want to drag around a cannister of air to deal with my COPD when I am just 60 if not earlier or suffer with lung cancer like my father did because he took the "pride of life" sin road and always stated, "I enjoy smoking and I will do what I damn well please until I die" only for him to severely regret that statement the last 3yrs of his life.

Good for you ! How bad do you want it ????

Sully 04-14-2013 02:32 PM

Yeah
It makes me feel like shit.
Headaches, always out of breath, nasty taste in my mouth, and the smell. All that in top if the ****ing cost. Dumbest ****ing thing ever.

But I know (working at an alternative school with behavior issues), about lunch time tomorrow I'm gonna be hurting. Same thing at the end of the day.

Chief Roundup 04-14-2013 02:33 PM

You have to be mentally ready to quit. I haven't had a cigarette in 7 weeks. It has been extremely easy to quit for me. I used Bupoprin to help me. But before I started taking the drug to help me I did some things to disassociate cigs from the norms that it goes well with. Such as driving, eating, sleeping and so on. I made sure that I changed those habits so that driving, eating and such so that those keys did not set off cravings.
It is nice to know that I have smoked the last cigarette I will ever smoke.

I told myself every day for a year I would quit smoking so I would buy one pack a day and say it was my last pack. fml couldn't stop, but I got sick and just couldn't smoke any more, I just couldn't smoke any more. Now am afraid to have one to revert back to that habit and it would be the life of me.

Sully 04-14-2013 02:34 PM

I don't mean to sound defeatist. I'm not. I've put it off so long and I'm ready. I'm just being honest with myself about the hardest parts.
