How many days are you working Christmas week?
 

With Christmas right in the middle of the week next Wednesday, a lot of businesses will take that as a good reason to be closed on some extra days other than just Christmas or Christmas Eve.

So how many days are you working next week? Lets just call it Sunday through Saturday. Working any weekdays at all? Perhaps you are going to work the weekends to avoid working during the week? Will you have even more than those seven days off? Lets hear it!

I work for the government.....and I only have Christmas day off.

It's not so bad considering that I'm pretty much one of two people left in the office....so it's nice and quiet.

Sounds boring.

I booked vacation so that I would have the 23rd through the 1st off.

And then a customer released a large RFP and I got ****ed by mgmt.

I'm taking my vacation, don't care what they say.

I bring my laptop in and watch movies.

Not if the other person is a hot nymphomaniac

I'll have all week off (teacher). My wife's business is open up until Christmas Eve, then we're heading out of town until after New Year's, though she'll have some of her girls open the shop while we're traveling (so she'll be dealing with work related bullshit on the road, as will I).

I ****ing wish.

Happens all the time. IT guys don't want to work over the holidays and the surest way to make sure it doesn't happen is to make sure the holidays fall during the RFP quiet period.

They released a bid worth potentially $250M on December 4th with a due date of January 10th.

On top of that, me and my team suggested approach "X" for our response and our mgmt said "No, we're going with Y". Despite the protestations, we spent like 150 hours over 10 days crafting the "Y" response so that we could be done before the holidays.

Then on Friday, mgmt says "Hey, we want to win this bid, we're going with approach 'X' now".

So you're taking approaches "F" and "U"...
