today we "Broke Splash Mountain" at DisneyLand

Was at Disneyland today. My kids wanted to go on SPLASH MOUNTAIN really badly. It was about 11 am and still kinda cool out, but I obliged while the missus opted to go fetch a churro or turkey leg or something.

Well, the ride was going fine-dandy and we had just made it down the big splash (soaking the hell out of me, as my daughter insisted I sit in the last seat with her -- waves of water spilling over the side of the log into my sleeves, shorts and shoes) when on the return to base, we get stopped by a gate in the flume.

The wait was a bit longer than you'd expect when suddenly an announcement comes on the speaker "Hey folks! we're experiencing a log jam, sit tight and we'll git the logs moving in just a few moments!

It turns out that a few moments meant more than FIFTEEN MINUTES!

Now, fifteen minutes may not seem like an eternity to you, but sitting on a hard plastic seat soaking wet and listening to a loop of ZIPPITY-DOO-DAH makes fifteen minutes seem like eight years!

It was like some kind of torture or brainwashing or both. :cuss:

Not to mention there was some kind of school group occupying the five logs jammed up behind us and they were all screaming at each other. I was really wishing for a few grenades or Moltov cocktails at that very moment.

Finally, they turned off all the music and crap and a helpful Disney representative comes out and explains the we're gonna exit the logs and walk out of the ride along the waterway.

AWESOME!

It was pretty cool evac-ing from SPLASH MOUNTAIN!

The funniest part was, I told my daughter she broke the ride because she kept putting her hand in the water when I was constantly telling her not to. (hey, you gotta be the enforcer any way you can) I let her off the hook later fter she told my wife, "Mom I broke Splash Mountain"

Yeah, after seeing the thread title, I should have had the quotes only around "broke"

It could never have been better than "flash Mountain"

I'm glad I was just there and remember what ride that was before clicking the play button.

Oh yeah. Well, right now It's a Small World (or, "Small World" as we fans like to call it) is decorated for Christmas outside and in. It is OFF THE HEEZY with lights and santa-themed festivites.

Was Disneyland busy?

Actually, I really like Rick Astley and I'm tired of the crap circulating on the internet, ridiculing him. He does have talent. Additionally, if I look as good as him at his age, I'll hail Allah for years.

hellz no. It was REALLY light. Sunday we got there an hour after the park opened and the Line at Space Mountain was 7 minutes. We rode it three times in a row. I think the longest line we saw was Indiana Jones and that was 30 minutes (though, I think the NEMO ride has the longest line, we just never checked it.

There is this new ToyStory ride at California Adventure, kind of a virtual target shooting game in 3-D. It was really fun. You have this fake pop gun mounted on the car and you have to pull the string as fast as you can to launch balls at targets. Its a lot like making a rapid beating off motion.
