I loved Borderlands, this looks similiar with a better art style. I grew up on Doom and Quake so hopefully ID Soft can pull me back in.

I think id is about 7 years behind with their game concept.

This doesn't look 7 years behind, I think it looks like a mix between Fallout and Borderlands.

pfft, i thought he meant Rage against the Machine. booo.

Not many seem interested here, but it looks like Id Soft is back. Doom defined the Multiplayer shooter genre and I have to say this looks to rediscover the maps/mood of the original that is severely lacking in most games today. Imo of course.

I for one am excited, but with the packed calendar this fall and this game being single player only, I'll wait until I buy it. Maybe get a good deal on black friday or something.

I'm sorry is this game an RPG?

It has some RPG elements, but mainly a shooter.

Rage will also feature some role-playing game (RPG) elements—an inventory system and the capabilities of weapons will be based around types of ammo. Players will also have the option to customize their weapons.[9] There will also be side missions. More on the RPG elements have not been detailed. At E3, Tim Willits stated that at the game's core is a first person shooter with car-combat added in and without the racing being the sole and central focal point. The game will be set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland created by an asteroid impact. The world will be populated by the human survivors of the impact who were preserved from the asteroid by being buried in the Arks. The world will also be populated by mutants, Gingers and Fattys (Referred to in the game as 'Beached Whales') who will serve as the player's main enemies at least for the first half of the game, as id is currently talking of a major change taking place at the midway point of the game.
