Favorite toy you have ever owned or still own?
What was your favorite toy?
Mine is the Y-Wing from Star Wars. I still have it with the bomb on the bottom. |
I had a huge collection of hot wheels. I loved hot wheels.
|
I was more of a Matchbox kid.

Do sex toys count?

Waiting on the female population to say what their favorite toy is now......

I honestly can't remember liking any particular toy. The only thing that stands out is Lite Brite.
That's a toy, right? https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/i...TMQ5PYypHY3KLa |

Do you know what the NES is? |
Definitely Star Wars stuff. I had pretty much everything made before 82 or so. Unfortunately, my brilliant teen age self sold it in a garage sale for weed money lol

Nerf basketball with the metal rim that hung over the door and a real string net. I played games against my brother, my dad and my friends for years.
In addition, when I brought girls over we played dare games of kissing based on making a shot! :D |
|
I fancied Lincoln logs back in the day.
|
YES the Nerf Turbo. ]
went through many of them. |

Why did you start this thread?

When I was a kid, I was really into Beast Wars (the Transformers TV Show/line of toys at the time).
**** YEAH DINOBOT http://tfwiki.net/w2/images2/f/f8/Be...t_1996_toy.jpg I also went through a Lego phase a little later on, and owned this sweet ninja/samurai castle that I played with constantly. http://img2.toysperiod.com/img/cache...54r21334x2.jpg Nowadays, I'd probably just default to a football or baseball (as long as computers/video games don't count). |

I spent a couple years playing with only my erector set.
Later came the Atari and NES. |

Before Atari and NES........I was all about slot-car racing, Legos (and the boring/bland legos of the 70's, not the crazy/expensive stuff kids have now), and hot wheels.
Really enjoyed slot-car racing though. |
Back in the 60's when we were working towards landing on the moon I was given this and it was the present I remember the most. In fact, I talked about it enough my wife found one on ebay about 10 years ago and got it for me.
Might have to get it out on Christmas day and let the family play with it. http://www.blujay.com/1/324/2741038_s1_i1.jpg |
Have to say my wife. Amazingly awesome.
|
My superheros action figures i still have a few around.
|
I had an X-Wing Fighter.
Wish I still had it. |
A hot wheel track that has a flag that indicates to you which car won. I have younger brothers who are 13 and 15 and I always "teach" them how to make brackets and what not and race the cars....but in reality, I'm so big into pushing all the hot wheels track stuff because I freaking love it. I also have this toy parrot that mimic everybody and everything.....total awesomeness.
|
I got this when I was 6 or 7 years old for Christmas.

Dad didn't give me many toys... but this one was great...

Not sure it really qualifies as a toy, but it is something that I got in my youth 51 years ago and I still have.
When I was 6 my dad and uncles all bought my BB guns for Christmas for all their kids(my 4 cousins and my brother and I). To hang them on in our room our Grandpa made gun racks with our names on them. To this day I am the only one that still has his, and my name is still visible on it. |

I was at Toys R Us the other day. They are selling a reissue of the original Star Wars Millenium Falcon. $249.99 Jesus!

Fisher Price Little People
The wooden ones. Ya know, with the round heads that were choking hazards. I had the house, the auto garage, the castle, and a few other play sets. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jX9QklC3G4...0521510950.jpg |
I did have a killer GI Joe plane thingy that was made to mimick the SR071 Blackbird. awesome toy.

Never owned it but that GI Joe aircraft carrier was the most badass toy ever. It was humongous. Very few kids I knew had the money or enough basement space to own it. The holy grail of toys when I was growing up.
|
I had a ton of Hotwheels growing up but spent the majority of our time outdoors with BB / pellet guns.
|
A huge bag of teenage mutant ninja turtles.
|
I saw some great replies and have some of my own great games/toys;
Hot Wheels were big for me and I remember those strange purple connectors for the track and the little house with batteries that connected to the track to keep propelling the cars non-stop all around the oval track The game Trouble with that awesome bubble cube you click to tumble the dice The game Clue Legos of course before all the crazy pieces Chemistry Sets that always caused someone getting burned Kerplunk with the silly colored sticks through the barrel and marbles Operation Mousetrap Stratego Game of Life with the cool spinner |

I waited 26 years before I got one (yes, I DID ask 26 years for one) and my brother found one and hooked me up. It sucks. |

I wanted the toy that was $25 at the time and that was ****ing reerun money back then. This was not the time when your father would club baby seals and your mother would boil the skull of a nearly extinct animal to appease YOU. I know, hard to imagine. We didn't have cell phones then either. Yeah, THAT long ago. Anyway, back then I ****ing cut grass for ****ing $5 a yard and when I was done......... They didn't sell it anymore. http://www.collectiondx.com/gallery2...peadaley44.jpg |
