What to see in Colorado

Frontier just opened up service to our local airport and was offering crazy cheap fairs to Dungver so I jumped on them.

My 19 year old son and I are flying out in early August for 5 days.

Looking for ideas on what to do and see, especially in the mountains. Scenic train rides, etc.

Sorry for not being more helpful with personal advice. It's just that these threads come up at least a couple times a year, and I've run out of motivation to regurgitate the same info each time. If you've got specific questions, feel free to ask.

Oh, since you specifically mentioned trains, the Georgetown Railroad is worth an afternoon. The other popular one is way down in Durango, which is awesome, but is a long drive from Denver.

Oh no problem. No reason to re-hash stuff that's already been posted. I should have searched myself. Lot's of info in those threads I'm going to look at.

Thanks.

I noticed how far Durango was. I'll check into Georgetown.

I lived in Boulder for a couple months last summer/fall. If you spend any time there, get burgers at Mountain Sun (cash only). The Flatirons are decent short hikes. Ft. Collins is a fun day trip. If you've got bikes, just park at one brewery and ride your bikes around town to the different brew tours. And Choice City Butcher & Deli has good food and incredible beer selection. Nederland has some pretty good hikes, about 45 minutes west of Boulder on Canyon Dr. El Dorado Canyon State Park is pretty cool. Really beautiful hikes and world class sheer cliff rock climbing.

Go piss 43-8 on Mile High & go find Manning at training camp & kick him in the nuts.

Trip complete.
