The battle for Eric Winston's soul

I keep seeing his name pop up in a lot of hot-button conversations since Pioli was fired.

Do you want this guy as our RT in 2013?

Let the record show he only allowed 3 sacks. He's no Jordan Black or Barry Richardson.

This poll is sickening and embarrassing.

Graystoke 01-08-2013 02:44 PM

Its CP's way of picking on someone reeruned...who isn't reeruned.

Easy 6 01-08-2013 02:56 PM

Shut up and play ball would be my advice for him.

Hoover 01-08-2013 02:57 PM

When he stands up and defends our rookie QB we will all love him.

I like the dude.

ModSocks 01-08-2013 02:59 PM

He's a **** stick, but he can play the game and that's ultimately all that i care about.

jd1020 01-08-2013 02:59 PM

Sure. He's good. But he deserves 70,000+ people laughing in his face when Cassel gets cut.

Reerun_KC 01-08-2013 03:00 PM

dude cant keep his man pleaser shut...

Screw Winston, He can leave with Pioli and Cassel.

We agree.

mcaj22 01-08-2013 03:01 PM

hahahah it's a very rare combination when the player is an idiot/flaps his trap but is actually decent, then to watch the fanbase react to said player.

if this guy was even just average or okay the fanbase would be roasting him over a fire. but because he has good NFL play for his position he gets a shrug

dude blows...

He's always been one of the better RTs in the league.

mcaj22 01-08-2013 03:10 PM

apparently giving up 3 sacks in an entire season isnt good

id hate to see what some of you have as a criteria for a good offensive tackle then holy **** some of you are picky

CaliforniaChief 01-08-2013 03:12 PM

Yes, I want him back. Forget the stupid controversies. Hell, forget all of 2012. He's a good right tackle, and it would be a terrible mistake to let him go.

RealSNR 01-08-2013 03:12 PM

It's a love/hate relationship. He's a good player. I want good players on my team. So I guess I want him on the Chiefs.

But that's not going to stop me from calling him an asshole every chance I get. Speaking of which...

Eric Winston is an asshole.

RealSNR 01-08-2013 03:14 PM

Also, that defense of Cassel against the fans thing he did was because he cares. He just doesn't know any better, that's all.

I'd love for him to have that same over protective instinct when he's blocking for a REAL QB.

Precisely.

Let's forget that 2012 ever happened and start all over. Not just with him, but with Clark and the whole team other than our seven pro bowlers. We can remember 2012 for our seven pro bowlers.

We can also remember this play because it was really cool.

-King- 01-08-2013 03:19 PM

Of course. I don't care what he said. He's one of the best RTs in the league and we need as many good offensive players as possible surrounding our rookie QB.

Frazod 01-08-2013 03:20 PM

**** him.

Deberg_1990 01-08-2013 03:21 PM

He seems like a complete tool. But all i care about is putting the best players on the field. These guys are not my drinking buddies.

Chiefnj2 01-08-2013 03:24 PM

Yes, keep him. He's a better RT than KC has had in years. It's better than using a 1-3rd round draft pick to replace him. At the end of the day he was right, some people were cheering Cassel's injury. Good for him sticking up for his QB. I want him sticking up for Smith/Wilson/Bray.

RunKC 01-08-2013 03:26 PM

A preview for next season.

Everybody come here I have something to say.

Eric, quit acting like a diva and shut the **** up.

Ok sorry coach

ghak99 01-08-2013 03:28 PM

He can stay.

.... but if one of you ****ed captain downs with a rusty nail, I'd smile.

mcaj22 01-08-2013 03:28 PM

this dude is soooo lucky he doesnt suck or he would be on my roaster next Jalil Brown, Jeff Allen, and Jon Baldwin

BigMeatballDave 01-08-2013 03:38 PM

I'm fine with him at RT.

If a better replacement can be had, by all means. It's not a priority.

Pretty much what I thought.

Wumbology 01-08-2013 03:46 PM

I kind of look at Winston as that dude that your sister starts dating that is a giant douche, but then he's around all the time and can help move heavy shit so you kind of just get used to him.

Discuss Thrower 01-08-2013 03:49 PM

Team that cut him is still alive on the playoffs.

To me that means... "Well.. bye."

whoman69 01-08-2013 03:54 PM

Let's drop the acrimony. In a stupid moment without all the facts he defended his teammate. Would it make you all feel better if he was happy about the injury?

BlackHelicopters 01-08-2013 04:59 PM

He has a nice round mouth. NTTIAWWT

Pasta Little Brioni 01-08-2013 05:01 PM

Who gives a **** what he said. He's a really good player. Lol, at those saying he sucks because of butthurt.

Pasta Little Brioni 01-08-2013 05:02 PM

When he's sticking up for Geno everyone will be sucking his dick.

Ace Gunner 01-08-2013 05:02 PM

no. **** no.

Thig Lyfe 01-08-2013 05:04 PM

I can't wait for the JFK parody where Marty Schottenheimer and Greg Robinson conspire with Derrick Thomas to assassinate Eric Winston.

stonedstooge 01-08-2013 05:07 PM

Some things are unforgivable. **** him.

He can run block. Pass block---not so much

Bump 01-08-2013 06:12 PM

Eric Winston is that guy in your group who has to protest everything, talking about world peace and being green and shit. Annoying as ****, thinks he smarter than everyone else.

**** Eric Winston.

DaneMcCloud 01-08-2013 06:16 PM

He's a douchelord but the Chiefs don't need another hole to fill this off-season.

bevischief 01-08-2013 06:21 PM

As long as he sticks a bar of soap in his mouth.

Most people who were at the game agree with him though. There was a lot of cheering in my section and in other sections and a lot of high fiveing once people realized that Cassel was hurt.

It's still not right that he made it public how he did, but I'm not mad at all about the fact that he said what he felt he needed to say. You want your linemen to defend their QB at all costs.

If he defends Cassel, think about how he would defend Geno or Wilson if something happened to them.

alpha_omega 01-08-2013 06:25 PM

Stay.
Anyone remember Barry Richardson?

okcchief 01-08-2013 06:31 PM

I never understood the outrage. He could have handled it better and specified some fans, but he was just trying to stand up for a team mate. Even if that team is VERY hate able in our eyes. He's better than what we've had. If he plays well and we're better last season will be a distant memory.

houstonwhodat 01-08-2013 06:33 PM

I can tell you this the Texans still wish they had him.

The right side of their line is f'd up once he left.

Prison Bitch 01-08-2013 06:49 PM

He's a pretty good player. I don't like his outburst (or him failing to protect Cassell a week later after Seymour body slammed the QB right in front of him and he did nothing after blasting the fans), but we always say we'll take a guy we don't like if he's good. Same deal here. Dale Carter was an ass but he could play.

Rasputin 01-08-2013 06:50 PM

I voted no, but it wont hurt my feelings if he is back.

I don't recall the last few games him false starting much. Altho there was several games he did make notable false starts that became a joke.

If we need him bad enough keep him. If we can upgrade, by all means upgrade.

hometeam 01-08-2013 06:56 PM

Hate his face, but he blocks good enough.

Shaid 01-08-2013 07:05 PM

He was defending his teammate, wrongly but that was the intent. Too many people around here need to get the sand out of their vaginas.

His face reminds me of the bad guy in Cobra.
