Wow.

IMO, if they can't tell the difference between his work and a Chinese engineers work then he's not a very damn good SW engineer.

Brilliant!

That's just smart business. :P
Well... Until he got fired I suppose. |
he should get a raise
|
Now that Verizon knows a company in China can do it that inexpensively his job will be permanently outsourced and another six figure job leaves the country.
|
Had to be a way to set a workstation in his house so that the Chinese firm was actually working THROUGH his home computer. Then he probably wouldn't of gotten caught.

Let me give China my encryption key. What could possibly go wrong with that?
|
From the comments section, it sounds like the company wasn't Verizon. He was just using an internet connection through verizon for his company, and the company asked verizon to investigate.
Also, I don't give a **** how clever it is. The guy is preying on a broken system to make money, which is dishonest and sleazy. It's no different than taking a well-written book by an unknown, buying the rights below market value, and marketing and passing the book off as your own to gain fortune, which would generally be seen as wrong. |
I think I'll outsource my Chiefsplanet posting to China.
|
why not just become a contractor and then outsource his work to china? If you an an employee and doing this eventually you are going to get caught.
