2 linked to Tucson home robbery killed in wreck

Arizona Daily Star | Posted: Tuesday, March 20, 2012 6:02 am

The driver of a Jeep linked to an early morning home robbery lost control of the vehicle and smashed into an urgent care center on Tucson's south side Tuesday. Two passengers were killed and two were wounded.

A vehicle being chased by deputies in connection with a home robbery on Tucson’s southwest side early today crashed into a building, killing two of four people inside, officials said.

The incident started about 2 a.m. when three women told deputies they were followed home and robbed by people who first approached them at Casino del Sol, Deputy Dawn Barkman, a Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman said in a news release.

The women said they left the casino because the group’s contact made them uncomfortable. However, they realized they were being followed on their way to a home in the 3700 block of West Exton Lane.

A man rolled underneath the closing garage door and pistol-whipped one of the women. Others followed him into the home and the group left with purses and other items, Barkman said.

Deputies spotted a white Jeep Cherokee matching the description given by the residents of the home near West Los Reales Road and South Cardinal Avenue.

The driver refused to stop, speeding off east on West Valencia Road, and at one point someone in the car threw a gun out the window, hitting a patrol car.

The car continued onto northtbound Interstate 19. The driver lost control on the Ajo Way exit, speeding over a median and smashing into an urgent care facility at a shopping center at the intersection, Barkman said.

Two people in the Jeep — a man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s — were thrown from the car and died in the crash. Another man and woman in the Jeep were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.

The man who was hospitalized was not being cooperative, Barkman said.

I, unfortanetly cannot make threads yet but I wish I could so we could discuss the terrible police work in my little town of 25,000+ of aberdeen, sd ... thought some people would get a kick out of this. . I could only find the link to the most recent wreck which is pretty serious but the one before this had a woman officer involved who apparently "rolled" into a train and destroyed one of the our brand new tax-payed challengers . the most recent involved two of our charger cars . if you do more research you will realize how idiotic our police force is and realize why many of us wont even call them for help. we will help ourselves. fat, lazy, cocky, idiotic, moronic, ignorant are the favorite terms for me. indulge....

and on top of that i guess i cant give links. so if u wish to see moronic police folk. go to www . aberdeen american news . com and search aberdeen police wreck. you'll find it :) it is hilarious. sorry for anyone who is PD i respect most who "serve & protect" unfortanetly for us, ours cannot "serve & protect" themselves.

I think this is the link you are looking for, but I don't see anything about a train in the article.

SDKCCHIEFS 03-20-2012 05:40 PM

for the current investigation of the one idiot who t-boned the other idiot for an ON-FOOT pursuit. i donno if you believe everything you hear in the news but i for sure dont because i have dealt with these people and know for sure they could have gone on foot instead of racing their v8's around like nascar .

Karma indeed. Here's another one, if you have the rocks to try to shoot a cop, make sure you have a round ready to go. This guy is also taking a dirt nap. May not be safe for work, cops says SHIT after being shot at.

I find it ironic that they crashed into an urgent care facility. Didn't do much good.
