Oh, here's a good one, and I really like this song. "LA County" by Lyle Lovett.

I think it works, though it's got a twist at the end. If you've never heard this song, it's worth a listen.

That will be on my suggestion list. Thanks.

What about Somewhere That's Green that I posted earlier? It's a perfect fit.

I like that. Always liked Lyle Lovett. I don't think Ray will pick it but I'll put it on the list.

has "Estranged" by Guns n Roses been suggested yet? it's not easy to find a better song about spousal abuse than that one, jmho of course.

Too bad.

Dixie Chicks are pretty good.

Though, at this point, I'm assuming you're a two time voter for Bush Jr.

Chixie Dicks wrote a few good songs but were mostly terrible imo. Natalies voice overshadowed most anything decent they ever did. Truly horrible lead singer.

I've voted republican once in my life, for a state senate seat.

Not really.

There's a woman here in town that spent years in an abusive marriage. The story told to me was that the guy wouldn't even let her sing publicly though she has a great voice. She eventually broken free, and some musicians in town formed a band around her, Dottie & the Rail. I think she has met a good man since, but also she was reunited with her love of preforming. http://www.myspace.com/dottietherail

they did covers of classic country. They don't play anymore that I know which is a shame, because they were a nice, feelgood set compared to all the indie/emo/metal bands that play in town.

ok, now I'll tap into my inner FABULOUS and suggest..

Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive
Ace of Base - I Saw the Sign

And now back to better songs and my TOP domestic abuse song sung by a female ...

Voices Carry by Til Tuesday, featuring the amazing Aimee Mann
(although I am pretty sure it was not originally meant to be about abuse in it's original version)
