Pat Williams

I watched him play today. My friend is a Viking fan, taped the game. I reviewed the game against Detroit. MAN is that guy is AWESOME!

He is clearly the type of DT a team like the Chiefs could use. Not much of a passrusher, but, can he stop the run!! A lot of running plays Detroit ran he was in the backfield, constantly. Practically always collapsing the pocket. Big reason why Minnesota has the leagues best rush defense.

He blew plays up. And just a force up the middle, hard to block. Very hard. He deserves my praise. Wish we had a guy like that. The Chiefs should look very hard for a player that fits that kind of mold at the DT position. Seriously.

I'd much rather we have a DT who can collapse the pocket on passing downs instead of a guy who is sucking buttermilk up his ass on the sideline on 3rd and 10...call me crazy.

there is only 3 or 4 great DT's in the game. They don't grow on trees. Tommy harris, vince wilfork, are the only ones that aren't living on reputation aline

Minnesota has the best pair of DTs outside of Jacksonville, and it shows on the field. Its crazy that a team running a cover 2 defense has by far the best run defense in the NFL. Jacksonville and Minnesota show how great DTs can help your defense.

I can't help but wonder where this team would be if we had drafted Henderson instead of Sims....

We would have a dominant DT that could stuff the ran, collapse the pocket, and demand double-teams. Jared Allen would be even more beastly next to a guy like Henderson.

Dude's a monster. Christ, look at his neck.

Crazy :p

Id still take Williams. My reason, I've seen teams run the ball on us up the middle a lot of times. With a guy like Pat Williams, thats very hard to do. He is a difference maker. We see teams run the ball up the middle on the Chiefs for 4, 5 yard gains. Just makes it easier for them to convert on 3rd downs.

Anyway, my point is, if you have dominating DT that could stop the run the way he can, it forces teams into a lot of 3rd and long situations. I'll take that on defense. I dont disagree with you though, it'd be nice to have a passrushing DT.

Another big fella doing well is Grady Jackson, who's at least 340 and comes out on 3rd down but still manages to lead the league in TFL, if memory serves. Incidentally, it would've been nice if Carl had made a run at him this offseason.

With this D, I'd rather be in 3rd and 3 than 3rd and 8.
