Radiohead says, put the youtube cover of THEIR song back up.

BTW - the comments have me in tears of laughter, worth a glance if you're familar with AV Club humor.

That crashed n' burned pretty quick...

The rendition was absolutely awful. The guitar work at the end made up for part of it though.

I watched the Weird Al Yankovich bio on the A&E channel over the weekend, and he said the only artist not to give him permission to do a parody of his songs was Prince. He said even Michael Jackson loved his version of "Beat It' (Eat It).

BigOlChiefsfan 06-02-2008 04:08 PM

Those comments were wack!

I saw this performance. He came out and said "Coachella, I am here!" Because they had been trying for years to book him.

Then put the rest of the festival to shame really. It was an awesome performance in the desert.

Parody songs are for artists that realize that they have short lived careers.

I'd imagine that Michael's "handlers" advised him that it was okay because Michael had zero controls over his business since about 1981.

Ironically, Al's lived longer and so has his career than Michael.

A Prince concert is an experience anyone should jump at the chance if the opportunity presents itself. His music game is strong and on point.

Dane is wrong about most things. Though I think you missed his point about the artist who's song is going to be parodied being the short lived one. Which is also wrong as plenty of songs parodied by Weird Al have been by artists with long and respected careers.
