I'm torn between Inglorious Basterds and Cool Hand Luke.

SO the prior heat sucks total ass, neither of the 3 scenes are worth a shit.

And this heat is 3 great scenes.

I DEMAND A RECOUNT.

Bear jew and saving private ryan scene could be in the finals. But no. The NCAA seeding system strikes again.

The bat cracks in the tunnel are such a terrifying sound.

C'mon people, its SPR or nothing here... probably the most graphic, harrowing and realistic piece of combat action ever put on film, pretty sure theres nothing else even close to it.

Rain Man 06-05-2014 04:46 PM

My votes in a stout and manly heat:

#1 - Inglorious Basterds. This scene is one of the more entertaining killings you're ever going to see. Good dialogue, good suspense, and I like Brad Pitt's role.

#2 - Saving Private Ryan. As discussed in Round 1, it's a great scene, but it's not my FAVORITE scene. It's too much of an assault on my senses and sensibilities.

#3 - Cool Hand Luke. It's a very good scene, but it wandered into the heavyweight divisions and is fighting the movie equivalent of two George Kennedys.

This, (except that I would've spelt it "there's" instead of "theres")

Ryan is a good scene, but if you really want to enjoy a scene it's no match for the Bear Jew.

 for petes sake, I leave out extraneous minutiae like that all of the time... on purpose.

Why? because I'm not usually worried about being perfect for you bunch of drunks... call it "intraweb shorthand".

I see nothing enjoyable about the Bear Jew scene unless you get kicks out of seeing surrendered Nazis being smashed in the head with a baseball bat.

I saw Inglorious Basterds when it came out and had no recollection of this particular scene.

The SPR scene gives the audience a feeling of what it may have been like for many of the servicemen that have been sent out to slaughter. It pays tribute to those men by showing the inhumanity and horror associated to that type of event. I also illustrates the perseverance and bravery that they showed despite what seemed to be insurmountable obstacles.

The entire scene is 24 minutes long and it has stuck with me much like the first time I saw the enormous titties of the girl I'd taken to see the film.

I wouldn't consider any of the scenes in this heat as "enjoyable", but I can say that the SPR scene is the one that was the most impactful to me.

Anyone not watching the second half of the Saving Private Ryan clip is doing themselves a major disservice.
