It's not available OnDemand via DTV, not available via Netflix streaming.

Looks like only option is $17.99 for the 1st season on Amazon Instant (HD) which means I have to hook up the PS3 again.

It's on DVD for $14 if you want to save a few bucks.

$20 for BluRay.

Only $2 more than streaming, it seems to get ridiculously good reviews.

I'll probably pull the trigger and hope we like it.

I would be really surprised if you didn't like it, judging by the list in your thread starter.

Season 1 was really good. And it gets even better in seasons 2 and 3.

Without a doubt, Doctor Who (the reboot started in 2005).

All episodes are available on netflix, DO EETTT!

Yea i like it. Its funny, offensive and pretty brilliant actually. Nothing too deep, but its well written.

wow.. no The Walking Dead? Great show, right in the vein of the shows you watch, but with zombies.

My favorite quote from season 1? "Hey, Dumbass. Yea, you in the tank."

I've always heard great things about The Wire. Just started watching it OnDemand, and I like it. Through about half of the third season now. Good stuff. I don't know if it lives up to the "best show ever" hyperbole I've read, though.
And it is a little dated, dealing with 10-year old technology.

The wire is a fantastic show. And I'm obviously a huge BSG fan. Watching it after the fact is great because you can watch it all at once and not have to wait a year for the next episode because the scifi channel is reeruned.

I feel like the 1990s - 2000s were the golden age of television. All of my favorite shows are from this time (I guess it helps that this range takes up all of my formative years).

I don't think anyone has mentioned The Shield yet. That show is definitely in my top 5.

What's The Wire about? How many seasons?

It's a show from the point of view of both a Baltimore Drug Syndicate and the Baltimore Police Department.

The best "police show" there is. I use the term "police show" loosely.
