No idea,I actually met the guy on the eve of Superbowl XXII at a hotel in San Diego, nice guy even though I hate the ****ing Raiders.

Christensen played a bit role on the Raiders 1981 Super Bowl team. Two years later, he played a starring role as part of his breakout season in which he caught 92 passes for 1,247 yards and 12 touchdowns, the latter two figures career-highs.

He was the only raider that shook my hand when I got to go out on the field with Lloyd Burrus for the coin toss. It was Bo Jackson's first football game in KC. It was cold, and I was scared shitless. Haha

Didn't he do radio spots fairly frequently with Petro?

siberian khatru 11-13-2013 11:53 AM

Wow.

I liked him as a broadcaster.

Yup, that's what I remembered as well. He was pretty good.

Sucks.

He played for the Raiders during the early 80's when steroids were rampant in that locker room. It's hard not to wonder if that contributed.

Dartgod 11-13-2013 12:07 PM

One of the few Raiders that I actually liked and respected. Damn.

RIP...

Dayze 11-13-2013 12:15 PM

Dang; he was a very well spoken person; I always enjoyed his interviews etc.

RIP
probably one of the only Raiders I had respect for.

Yeah, I didn't mean to make it sound like the Raiders were the only ones with steroid issues in the early 80's.

Their situation has just become more public in recent years after the death of Lyle Alzado and such...
