An elderly woman suffering from Alzheimer’s had a nursing home experience that left her family buzzing mad. The family of 92-year-old Catherine McCann is suing the Lutheran Home for the Aged in Arlington Heights, Ill., after doctors discovered and removed 57 maggots from her ear. Maggots. In. Her. Ear. What did you say? McCann's family alleges that a fly flew into her ear canal and laid eggs, which were only discovered after McCann — who can’t speak — tugged on her ear to let her husband know. McCann’s family was understandably distressed and disgusted, with her irate husband noting that he had paid the home $270,000 to care for his wife. The worms crawl in....

Why, in the name of Mr. Phobia's persistent ass rash, would you want to know the sickest thing that has happened to anybody, Mr. okoye35chiefs? What is wrong with you?

Can you hear me now?

That's pretty gross and all, but their frustration seems a little misguided. I mean, yeah they're paying a lot of money, but were they expecting a daily ear maggot exam or something?

The nursing home really gave her a worm reception.

On a serious note, Arlington Heights is one of the more affluent suburbs of Chicago. Very surprising/disturbing that this sort of thing would happen there.
