So who is your 2nd favorite NFL team?

Since "Palko gives the Chiefs the best chance to win." - Tard Haley...

who else do you root for?

My maternal grandma's sister is the mother of Lynn Dickey, so I've always kind of liked the Packers, since they would watch them when I was a kid in the 70s.

I was too young to watch him in college as he played before I was born or else I might of been a KSU fan. whew!

Anyway, since the Chiefs suck this yeah, who will you root for?

007 12-11-2011 02:07 PM

Green Bay

doomy3 12-11-2011 02:08 PM

Lions and Packers are my next two. I'm not sure which one of them I like better.

spanky 52 12-11-2011 02:08 PM

Niner's.

ChiefsCountry 12-11-2011 02:12 PM

Packers and Rams

then vikings / redskins

The Iron Chief 12-11-2011 02:20 PM

Jags/Seahawks

Then Chiefs.

If you ever consider rooting for a second team you were never a fan to begin with.

Oh, ok. Thanks for the clarification, real fan guy.

Bearcat 12-11-2011 02:35 PM

I don't have second teams, but the Packers have been on TV a lot this season, so I've watched them quite a bit... don't really care if they win week to week (of course, I'll be rooting for them against the Raiders), but they're fun to watch. The Packers/Giants last week was probably the best NFL game I've seen in at least a month or two.

Every yr when the Chiefs get ousted I try to pull for someone usually the extreme underdog/cardinals etc.
I thought about the Lions but all their crazy antics have given me pause.

DBOSHO 12-11-2011 02:36 PM

Patriots.

Pasta Little Brioni 12-11-2011 02:36 PM

What are you 12? There is no such thing as "2nd favorite NFL team".

FlaChief58 12-11-2011 02:46 PM

I have no second team. It's the Chiefs or nothing. The Chiefs still lead nothing, but the gap is closing fast.....

Captain Obvious 12-11-2011 02:46 PM

Chiefs are my 1A, Packers my 1B. Been a Packers fan for almost as long as I've been a Chiefs fan. I'll be in my Chiefs gear when I'm at the game next week.

I go Vikings because of my two best friends. It isn't any better. Sigh.......

Bump 12-11-2011 03:15 PM

I don't have a next favorite team. Sometimes I root for players that I like on other teams though. I don't have any care at all who wins it all for a team, but I do think it would be freaking cool to witness history and Green Bay going 19-0

that Randall Cunningham + Chris Carter + rookie Randy Moss + Robert Smith + John Randle was probably my favorite non-Chiefs team of all time, they were fun to watch.

Oh for sure. They have had some exciting players. But the disappointment level is horrible. Getting to big games and not winning them might be worse than watching garbage ball like the Chiefs....very close in terms of disappointment level.

Reaper16 12-11-2011 03:24 PM

I certainly don't have anything close to a second favorite team. I've always wished the Packers well, because they are my little brother's favorite team. But I wouldn't call myself a Packers fan.

Snarky answer: Sporting Kansas City.

Mine is just solely bc my friends watch Vikings games. I don't go out of my way to watch them or even really follow player personnel issues. I don't care if they win or lose, but they are a team I won't root against unless they play the Chiefs. That is all 2nd "favorite" team means to me.

Lonewolf Ed 12-11-2011 03:31 PM

I'd like to see the Packers win the Super Bowl, but going undefeated isn't that big a deal to me. It's just nice to watch them and see how an offense can look. QBs, who knew they could make such a difference? Not any of the higher paid employees at One Arrowhead Drive!

Just because some of us would like to enjoy watching a game and maybe even enjoy the post season, it doesn't mean we've abandoned KC.

It's a product, you ****ing numbskull. It's not a part of you. It never was, and it never will be. Coke changes their formula and Coke sucks, you try Pepsi.

Enjoy a Coke. Enjoy a Chiefs game. Never, however, think that either product gives a shit about anything except your money.

Hey, Tebow just scrambled for 16. I enjoyed watching that.

Yep... I don't really root for any other team, but at the same time, it's probably more childish to take pride in team loyalty and watch every game like you own them something than to take it FWIW, which is entertainment.

The team doesn't give a shit about you, especially if you're not giving them money.... someone in the game thread said they were "seriously considering" turning off the game if Palko came out for the second half, and I LOLed. A wasted season, and 4 yards in a half, and we're "seriously considering" doing something better with our time. LMAO

Basically, I don't want to find out that I'm the kiss of death for sports franchises.

Mojo Jojo 12-11-2011 04:18 PM

Packers...because of Mike McCarthy, Tim Connolly and Russ Ball...all three former Chiefs and class people.

Pretty much this is how I feel.

tecumseh 12-11-2011 04:30 PM

The Packers, since about 96'. The Bears because it's a family tradition. The Saints because Brees is a Boilermaker. Although the Trent Green years were great for me, too.
I've been a Chiefs fan since the Okoeye era. My choice, and boy have I caught ALOT of shit for it over the years.

I don't have a second favorite NFL team. Outside of them, it's the St. Louis Cardinals (MLB), St. Louis Blues (NHL), Missouri Tigers and SMU Bears (College), and Chicago Bulls (NBA).

This team, as bad as they perform, are short 2-3 PLAYMAKERS shy of a Superbowl caliber team.

I don't really have a second favorite team, but I do like the pack with aaron rodgers (I hated them with Favre, go figure). I will not "root" for them, though, it's more of a distant admiration. A "wish my team could do that" kind of thing. Otherwise, I usually root for the underdog unless it's a team I really don't like, meaning basically anybody else in the AFCW and anybody in the NFCE.

DaFace 12-11-2011 05:04 PM

Niners. My brother jumped on the bandwagon two decades ago and hasn't ever jumped off. Because of that, they've always been my #2 team.

I always rooted for CAR in the NFC, but I am very big on not having a 2nd fav. team in any sport. When my team dies, I die. There are teams I like more than others though, and CAR is high on that list. Always like Smith and Delhomme.

If the Rams did leave St. Louis, something tells me I would be inclined to become a fan of the Chiefs.
