It's been a little longer than that for me, Mr. Nzoner. As a matter of fact, the last time I saw them was in KC as a guest of the promoter. That was an evening to remember, I'll tell you.

I love that band with a passion. Thanks for posting the links.

That is a story I would love to hear over a beer Mr Fax.

BTW,I was 2nd in line this morning and got 1st row seats in the balcony and if you know The Uptown Theatre those are excellent seats in a such a small venue.

Cool. Is this where KWS and blues greats played last weekend in KC?

I would like that very much, Mr. Nzoner. I am, however, unfamiliar with the Uptown Theatre (at least I don't recall it). I'm sure the location of your seats is great and you will thoroughly enjoy your evening. If they perform any portion of Thick as a Brick", please light a bic for me.

The parking lot was a haze, seriously though they had a sign right inside the door ANYONE CAUGHT SMOKING WILL BE EJECTED,so as we're walking towards the bar during intermission we see a little commotion ahead and apparently some dude fired up a pipe right in front of security and got taken out.

The band put a whole new twist on Aqualung with a new arrangement,I liked it alot but one of my friends not so much.

Great show though as the band didn't play many FM hits and concentrated more on B sides and songs that real fans of Tull would be more familiar with, here's a few that I remember....

Budapest
My God
The Water Carrier(from Anderson's solo work)
Sweet Dream
Velvet Green

Of course they also did a few more common like

Locomotive Breath
Thick As A Brick
Living In The Past

Bump.

Saw Ian Anderson tonight on his solo tour. He's got a couple of guys who've been in the newer version of Tull. Apparently Ian and Martin have had a bit of a falling-out, since Martin is touring with his own band, "Martin Barre's New Day" (obviously a play on "A New Day Yesterday" and also a dig at Ian IMO). Anyway, on this solo tour, Ian is doing the "Thick As A Brick" album in it's entirety, for the first time since 1972. He then follows it up with his new release, "Thick As A Brick 2" (which wasn't bad). He then encored with a jazzy version of "Aqualung" and a straight version of "Locomotive Breath". It was cool to hear "Thick" altogether as usually they've only done a few snippets. Now if I can only get him to do the same thing with Barre, playing "Songs From The Wood" in the first set and then after intermission playing "Heavy Horses"...

What I wouldn't give to see the entire Heavy Horses project performed live.

I remember when CDs came out, how amazingly cool it was to have that sort of sound quality. Back then, in the Neolithic Era, it was quite something to put on a big pair of earmuff headphones and just zone out to a great album that just HAD to be listened to through headphones via a CD. Of course there were the obvious choices: Pink Floyd ("The Wall", "Dark Side Of The Moon"), The Beatles (that last chord from "A Day In The Life", the "Sgt. Pepper" album), Led Zep (4), et cetera. But, for me, zoning out to Jethro Tull was the best. "Aqualung", "Songs From The Wood", "Heavy Horses", "Broadsword and the Beast", "Thick As A Brick", "A Passion Play", "Stormwatch", "Minstrel In The Gallery"... because of the folk-English sound and many pauses they put in their music, it's just a great band to savor in high-fidelity.
