The Archos 101 at $350 is a more polished product out of the box. I was looking the Viewsonic but it seemed you had to hack the shit out of it to get it working properly. The Archos took a lot less hacking (Android Marketplace and Flash being the two biggest).

Also, by using ES File Explorer you gain access to your network under the LAN tab and can copy/paste/stream files. Ipad killer right here folks. I bought one of these about 2 months ago and I gave like 409 for mine, as soon as I got it home I put clockworkmod on it and TNT Lite and I now have the full market place working thanks to this link

Also it has a Full size USB slot and if you are a reader of the Nook , they have an app. Wife likes to read her books better on the Nook than the G-tab because there is no glare on the screen and the nook is lighter but if it's a low light situation, the G does well as a nook reader... |

oh and as far as losing anything... If you have a Droid now and use your email on your new device (gmail) all those apps you purchased for your phone are available to you to download, you do not have to pay again.
And if that's not cheap enough for you, just go to the Google and type someappname and apk and you will get a place to download that, you will then be able to install from the sd card and to the sd card and not use up your internal memory. Is it better than your laptop? No... is it fun to mess with when you are laying in the bed and the ole lady don't want to make love? Yes |

Someone on Woot got their GTab today. Says its firmware is 3389, one step below 3558. So everyone should be good to go with modding it. One of the XDA mods said to go ahead and do the OVA update to 3558 first. Here
