What if Boxxy was your GM?

This is what I'd have done if I'd taken over instead of Dorsey.

Before I begin editing the FA list, feel free to throw in your thoughts. Again, I won't be able to keep the majority of these players. I just wanted a base list to start from before I start whittling away and figuring out the roster/salary cap.

I'd find a way to bring in Andre Smith at RT.

Who would be your starting QB . Ricky Quinn ?

I'll do a draft as well.

Holy **** though, this is going to take some time. Might have bitten off more than I care to chew.

Direckshun 04-20-2013 12:41 PM

This is awesome. Keep going.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-20-2013 12:51 PM

If the real Boxxy was our GM I'd probably beat off thinking about our GM, then wonder if I was a pederast afterwards.

RealSNR 04-20-2013 12:54 PM

Love the Cullen Jenkins move.

I think the one of the things Dorsey has done right is that huge paycut he gave to Tyson Jackson. He's basically playing for us for free. I liked that move instead of just outright cutting him.

RealSNR 04-20-2013 12:56 PM

Also, am I to assume that you're letting Colquitt and Gafford walk? They're not big pieces to replace, but they are things to consider when making late-round draft selections and/or undrafted signings.

Rain Man 04-20-2013 01:32 PM

Ponderception, you should join our alternate reality game 1. We don't address free agency, but we have fun with the draft.

I asked about last week to see if I could still join and nobody answered. :(

I'll probably resign them, they were unintentionally left off. I am going to examine the FA market for both positions though, now that you've reminded me.

Anyone have a link to the Teicher article that had the cap hits for 2013?

QB: Daniel, Stanzi
RB: Charles, Gray, Eachus
FB: DiMarco

WR: Bowe, Alexander, McCluster, Shipley, Baldwin
TE: Fasano, Moeaki, Brock

LT: Albert, Stephenson
LG: Allen,
C: Hudson,
RG: Asamoah,

DE: Jenkins, Bailey, Shaughnessy
NT: Poe, Powe, Toribio
DE: Seymour, Jones

OLB: Hali, Groves, Butler
ILB: Barnett, Lemon
ILB: Johnson, Connor
OLB: Houston, Pace, Walden

CB: Flowers, Houston, Arenas, Menzie, Brown
S: Berry, Huff, Phillips, Abdullah, Lewis

K: Succop
P: Colquitt
LS: Gafford

Do I even need to say how unrealistic this is.

Sorter 04-20-2013 02:54 PM

Shhhh.

Also, I kept Winston. Just pencil that lispy **** in at RT.

Sorter 04-20-2013 02:56 PM

Additionally, I'll adjust it and make it less "Madden-esque" because looking at the depth chart you posted, it definitely looks that way at DE. Probably OLB as well.

Direckshun 04-20-2013 03:00 PM

And safety.

Everywhere else, it would look plausible.

I really like 3 safety sub packages.

There are plenty of questions about Kenny Phillips' health, which is why he only got a 1 year deal from Philly. IMO it's realistic to think he could have come to KC.

How inexcusable of me. I didn't see your post.

You can start with this draft, and just jump in. The rules are that you'll start with the current Chiefs roster, add any free agents that they add, and then you draft your own players.

You can reject or accept any Chiefs trades as long as the involved players are still on your roster. So this year you can accept or reject the Alex Smith trade. Other than that, your roster will vary only be your differing draft picks this year, but they'll vary more as time goes on. It's fun to actually make an irreversible call and see down the line if you picked right.

Sorter 04-20-2013 03:28 PM

Sounds fun. I'm glad it's not closed.

KC native 04-20-2013 03:33 PM

If Boxxxy were our GM, we would all have teh cancer

Sorter 04-21-2013 11:17 PM

Began trimming down the roster a bit. Cut down at OLB and DE

RunKC 04-22-2013 12:09 AM

I honestly think Albert wouldn't accept that deal. Really think he wants a longer deal with more money.

I gave him 2M more than Long. Mother****er will take the deal and be ****ing happy in my crazy world.

Direckshun 04-22-2013 05:37 AM

One hopes.

Sorter 04-23-2013 11:20 AM

Question for anyone that even remotely cares...

should I make my selections prior to the draft, during, or after so I can match it up with what players were actually available?

Personally, I'm not going to want to do it during.
