What Superstars Players have the Chiefs let go?

All bc of this Jared Allen trade talk has suprned this talk that Carl wont pay the top players. I hate Carl like most fans but he has resigned all of the superstar players that the Chiefs have drafted to big money contracts. Derrick Thomas, Tony Gonzalez, Will Shields, Larry Johnson. The only one that was really let go in his prime was Dale Carter and he fizzled real quick with Denver.

Neil Smith (on the downside of his career, but could still play)

Donnie Edwards over Warfield was a HUGE mistake of GRob proportions.

So in short - the only time that Carl let a star player go, he ended up being right about doing so?

:hmmm:

Forgot about that one. But to be honest, Gruden knew exactly how to use Gannon. I highly doubt Gannon would have ever developed like that in KC under Gun. DV would have dumped him because he didnt fit the system.

Reggie Tongue was a pretty good player-SS hasn't been the same since his departure-think about that for a minute.

Horn and Gannon werent Pro Bowl players during their time here. Both flourished after leaving, different story.

Gannon was in his 30's when he went to Oakland. I agree he wouldn't have performed as well here because of the offense being run, but I wouldn't say he "developed" in Oakland.
