Wall St. Journal on KC BBQ
Sept 16th WSJ Travel section has a piece on KC BBQ. Very cool!

Gates can't be denied.

I could eat BBQ 7 days a week.

Cool shout out to Boney's here in Denver. It's not KC BBQ, but it'll do in a pinch.
|
I've been out of the KC area for several years now, so I haven't had any great BBQ since.
There is a Chain of BBQ joints here(Dayton-Cincinnati) called City BBQ. They are very good. They don't make burnt ends :( |

City was started by St. Joe native. They don't have ends, but give away free brisket pieces which they call "BARK" |

Finding good BBQ here in Atlanta is like finding someone with teeth in Tennessee. Sure, there are a few joints, but they are hard as hell to find.

I have to give a shout out to Daddy Z's. Not KC but best in Atlanta I have found. Close to downtown, on Memorial.

KC BBQ article turned into thread about ATL BBQ. Hijack completed.

Kansas City BBQ in LA rocks. It's also a cool Chiefs bar - fullfilling my all-time dream of eating good BBQ, watching the Chiefs with a bunch of rabid Chiefs fans, and drinking a Chimay at the same time.
The guy who owns it used to work at Gates. He makes a burnt-end sandwich that's the consistency of pulled pork. It freaks people out because it's not what they're expecting, but is absolutely delicious. |
Have not found good BBQ in LA. I've heard it exists, but I am more and more skeptical. One place is actually called Kansas City BBQ. After eating there I wanted to burn it to the ground on general principle.
