Don't think Peter King "Gets It".

I could be wrong here, but this take on Sunday's game seems like a shot at us fans.

The Chiefs are in the middle game of three-game homestand. Gee, I bet it's so fun for them to play at Arrowhead, and get the full support of the loyal locals

Personally, I think we are all very loyal. That's why we all want Pioli and all of his "Patriot Ways" out of here.

He's just one voice, a loud voice but still only one voice. I'm surprised that most national media have been more friendly towards us than usual when it comes to fan revolts.

He is a big Pioli fan and sees him socially.

Bugeater 11-22-2012 08:55 AM

He must've missed where it says we're 1-9 after our team name. He should be ****ing praising the people who are even still showing up for this shitfest.

I know its true but I still find it hard to believe. Watching the game last week heard people wonder why the booing was going on, hell I know people who honestly think the chiefs just have had really bad luck this season

People like King literally do not watch small market games. They "Spark Note" them, then commentate on what little information they've bothered to gather.

They're like bad students.

cyborgtable 11-22-2012 09:05 AM

Hell I don't even watch chiefs games and its obvious its a train wreck, even with just sportscenter it should be obvious.

displacedinMN 11-22-2012 09:08 AM

Of course he doesn't. He doesn't sit in the stands, pay the money, watch the game.

I just want to watch a competitive team. The Pitt game was good. Then came crashing back to earth.

Its hard to break the habit of watching the game and caring. Directv already has my money. So I watch. It has been easier with CP around.

It should be, but they don't care. And it wouldn't be much work for him to research what's happening with SOC, but his time is so valuable, he can't be bothered.

I wish I got paid to write things that are wrong and never be called out on it. Didn't he pick us to win the West?

Last five games for each team: Pack 5-0, Giants 3-2. Last five games for each quarterback: Aaron Rodgers 17 touchdowns, two interceptions; Eli Manning two touchdowns, six interceptions. I still can't figure out how an NFL quarterback in this day and age who is not named Ryan Lindley could play five games and throw two touchdown passes

suds79 11-22-2012 09:36 AM

Men couldn't care less what Peter King thinks.

There are idiots out there who think being a fan means being a homer no matter what and never questioning management.

If he wants to be one of those people, he can be.

Rasputin 11-22-2012 09:38 AM

I'm sure it's fun for Cassell & Winston & the offense to hear BOOOOOO you ****ING SUCK BOOOOOOOO LOSERS

And yet Cassell doesn't understand why he was pulled after he got the team down to kick a fieldgoal before halftime.

Yeah, Peter King was the guy claiming Haley wasn't a serious candidate at Pittsburgh, and was only being interviewed as a courtesy to his dad -- I wonder where he got that information. If Peter King says anything Chiefs-related, it's coming straight from Pioli's mouth - err, I mean ass. Same with Michael Lombardi.

On a related note, Pioli cried earlier that the expectations were way too high, which is funny, because he obviously told all of his buddies in the media that we were going to be a SB contender.

pr_capone 11-22-2012 09:44 AM

Ask Peter King what his pant size was the last time the Chiefs won a playoff game....

Deberg_1990 11-22-2012 10:02 AM

It's really hard to know his real feelings as he typed that. We all know that text, email, etc intent can be misunderstood.

I like King as a writer, but he's so busy, he can't possibly have time to get to know every single team in and out as well as most of us around here.

IMO, the movement is about more than just firing Pioli. It's also been born out of 20 years of fan frustration having never won a playoff game...and 40 years without a title. The National guys will never get that, unless they live in KC or are connected to it in someway, like JWhit.

I've always said its very easy to be a fan of teams like the Lakers, Yankees, Steelers, Patriots.....and very, very hard to be fans of teams like the Royals and Chiefs.

Ask Peter King to post a photo of what his cell phone looked like the last time the Chiefs won a playoff game. It was likely the size of a toaster.

Of course the stupid idiot was being sarcastic. Any time a writer uses "Gee" to start a sentence they're being sarcastic idiots. In this case, the guy has no clue what he's talking about. A lot of the players probably agree with this fan revolt, and we support the players. Hell I even support Clark IF he does right by the team and fires the Hitler that he mistakenly hired to run his family's team.

This is the focus. My loyalty lies with a great and storied franchise. Charter team of the AFL/AFC. Pioli had his chance , given the benefit of oportunity, 4 years...failure. The loyal fans are expressing frustration. Sending a message to the man that can do something about the fail. Disloyalty would be apathy, indifference. King knows better. Perhaps he is a Pioli lapdog.

The more I read this, the funnier it becomes.

Marcellus 12-12-2012 12:47 PM

Its pretty silly but without editing the rest of the statement its not as bad.

• Low Seeds Rule. Since 2005, Super Bowl winners are 12-0 on the road in the playoffs. The last seven champs have played only seven home games in all, in addition to the 12 road games, which means the champ has come out of the pack of those teams that often end up scrambling to make the playoffs at the end.

Deberg_1990 12-12-2012 12:47 PM

Hes trying to make the larger point of how higher seeding hasnt mattered as much in recent years.

Increasingly, the NFL postseason is ruled by the teams playing the best at the end of the season, not the teams playing at home. That's obvious just by looking at the seeds that have won the last seven Super Bowls: 6, 3, 5, 2, 1, 6 and 4. The home field in January is nice but not the sort of edge it used to be (the first or second seed won the Super Bowl for eight straight years, from 1989 to 1996

I keep reading it over and over again to see if I can see what he was actually trying to say.

Maybe he was trying to say that since 2005, the last seven Super Bowl champions have played 12 road games and only 7 home games. But even so, why say anything about being 12-0? That's a f**king given.

In fact, the way he's saying it hurts my brain. I keep thinking of this scene...

DaneMcCloud 12-12-2012 12:55 PM

What a second: What he's saying is that since 2005, Super Bowl teams are 12-0 ON THE ROAD.

The point being that Home Field Advantage in the playoffs isn't as important as once thought or even necessary to win a Super Bowl.

Therefore, winning the division has been proven to be an unnecessary component to winning a Super Bowl.

What's so wrong, funny or dumb about that?
