Winston mad at the Fans

Arrowhead Pride ‏@ArrowheadPride

Eric Winston was very angry at the cheering when Cassel got hurt. Held court w/ the media for a few min about that in the Chiefs locker room

ModSocks 10-07-2012 02:46 PM

I was hoping the fans would show more class than that.

petegz28 10-07-2012 02:46 PM

They are getting ready to talk about this on MSN Redzone

Beef Supreme 10-07-2012 02:46 PM

He hasn't been here long enough to understand.

Molitoth 10-07-2012 02:46 PM

Good fuck him and fuck any other player on this team that is OKAY getting their ass kicked with a piece of turd that calls himself a QB.

How the team captains have not gone to Crennel and discussed their concerns with Cassels lack of QB skills and lack of leadership is beyond me.

GoShox 10-07-2012 02:47 PM

I don't really care for people cheering when anybody gets injured.

However, when fans are cheering for your starting QB to get injured, something must be very wrong with your organization.

Was Winston drunk for the first 3 quarters of play?

Always good when you are 1-4 to get the media together and blast the fans.

Same here. I was glad to see Brady get a chance, but you shouldn't cheer an injury. Matt is a good guy, he just sucks at football.

Like I said in the banner thread, I'm going to give the fans the benefit of the doubt and say they were cheering Brady warming up.

wazu 10-07-2012 02:49 PM

Was it classless to cheer? Yes. But the people in those stands represent the last of the people who are willing to do so.

Molitoth 10-07-2012 02:50 PM

Matt Cassel didn't even get injured ffs. He finally got hit hard enough to excuse himself from embarrassment.

He didn't want to be in the game today, and he found a way out. The same thing happened last year on his mysterious hand injury.

If Cassel would've broken his neck or something, then yes... you DON'T cheer.

Beef Supreme 10-07-2012 02:50 PM

I don't think anybody wants to see him hurt, they just want to see him gone. But then I can't speak for everyone. Maybe some people do want to see him hurt.

Coogs 10-07-2012 02:50 PM

It might have been classless. But if they would have pulled him when they should have, it wouldn't have happened.

007 10-07-2012 02:51 PM

I didn't want him to get injured to get him out of there.

Sully 10-07-2012 02:51 PM

I thought the cheering was tasteless, personally, but I was also hoping he'd stay down, so I guess I'm a little hypocritical on that.
However, I'd think that'd send an even more stark message than the banner.

I agree. As soon as Cassel went down i told my wife that I hope the fans don't cheer for this.

Winston should be mad. Cheering for an injury is pretty lame. At the end of the day, these people are still people, Cassel is out there giving it everything he has even if he sucks, and no one deserves to be treated like that.

MMXcalibur 10-07-2012 02:52 PM

I don't agree with cheering Cassel when he's down. I even said that to my wife while watching the game. I wanted Quinn in, but not like this.

Chiefs Pantalones 10-07-2012 02:52 PM

**** off Winston.

jd1020 10-07-2012 02:52 PM

Don't worry. When we get a new, franchise, QB, we won't need Winston either.

If there was cheering you couldn't really hear it on tv. I was glad it wasn't noticeable. Kind of embarrassing.

Smed1065 10-07-2012 02:53 PM

Ill admit I cheered and that is not me, usually.
It was just a natural reaction.

Reaper16 10-07-2012 02:54 PM

Why in the **** do we think this franchise deserves classy behavior from us?

O.city 10-07-2012 02:54 PM

You know how to get the fans not to cheer when your qb gets hurt?

Pull him out of the game when he's thrown for 50 yards, 2 picks and fumbled away a sure TD. Hold him accountable.

Valiant 10-07-2012 02:54 PM

**** that.. Those fans are at least still paying to go.. And if they deemed to cheer, then it is valid.. What is classless is the Chiefs putting out Cassel each time as a QB..

Damn near 20 years of futility..

Classy behavior for them? How about for yourself, maybe? How about in the name of the fanbase, in general?

If Matt got knocked out I agree with him but it didn't look like Matt got knocked out. It looked like a bad actor pretending fainting on stage because they forgot their lines. That was a push, not a hit.

Didn't look like a bad hit but I need to watch it again.

I really don't give a shit if it is classy or not. The fans have every right to voice their displeasure about Pioli's golden boy.

winston ripping fans for cheering cassel's injury LMAO

"Matt Cassel hasn't done anything to you people"

holy shit this can not get more epic

"If you're one of the people that cheered - or even smiled - I want you to know that it is sickening

Classiness has gotten us what, exactly? The Chiefs franchise has acted hostile towards us for years. We need to be responding in kind. Our banner isn't enough, in fact. There ought to be protests. There ought to be riots.

Winston is probably just taking out his frustrations because it's starting to sink in that going from the penthouse to the shithouse for a few extra bucks last offseason might not have been his best move after all.

petegz28 10-07-2012 02:59 PM

Bill Maas just said Winston was wrong and that the fans weren't cheering Cassel being hurt but that finally the change they have wanted would come. Said the fans have been buying tickets and for the last 4 years have been sold a line of "stuff", though he wanted to say shit.

Gonzo 10-07-2012 02:59 PM

Mr. Winston, you can kindly GFY.
If the fans were cheering an injury, then yes. Go ahead and be a bitch. But I'm pretty sure they were cheering a possible end to the biggest piece of shit starting QB this franchise has ever seen. They were cheering a possible end to the madness that is "The Patriot Way" and they were cheering for the little fleck of light that they can just barely make out at the end of a 4 year long tunnel. You go ahead and whine and bitch about the fans that pay your ****ing salary. If that piece of shit walks on the field next week, they'll boo. If he goes down again, they'll cheer again. Kiss our collective asses for we haven't seen the possibility of a championship since 1993.

This is kinda how I feel. I didn't cheer, but it makes me very, very suspicious when he goes down with a hit that doesn't look particularly vicious.

I'm not generally a conspiracy theorist, but ti could easily be a face-saving move - they can bench him (at least for a game or two) and see what happens with Quinn, all while saying "Matt got hurt."

If Quinn does well, they can say he earned the spot and his right to continue to lead the team. If he tanks, they can go back to Cassel and probably not get as much crap from fans/media.

Deberg_1990 10-07-2012 02:59 PM

Winston making a case that Cassel is the most fragile minded QB in the NFL.

and someone else was right, dude hasnt been here long enough to understand the mentality of the average Chiefs fan.

rocknrolla 10-07-2012 03:00 PM

I doubt the fans were cheering Cassel being hurt, but just for the opportunity to see a change. Unfortunately it was under these circumstances. Cassel should have been yanked after the half and never been hurt.

Easy 6 10-07-2012 03:00 PM

Like most, i'm glad he wasnt hurt severely, like carted off bad & as glad as i was to see quinn in there, i wont stand behind cheering injuries

But, Winston, you havent been here long enough to call ANY fans out, you just shut the **** up & be glad we arent riding YOUR ass... forty. years. of frustration was on display, thats all... you just ****ing DEAL WITH IT.

That is like asking a rape victim to be classy when confronted by the person that raped them constantly..

Fans have every reason to show their displeasure.. The rest of the country can **** off.. They have no idea about being a KC sports fans.. Royals and Chiefs havent done shit in decades..

We have a top 5 rated pass blocking offensive line and a top 4 rated run blocking line.

Tell me again how the offensive line is the problem.

No, those can be dismissed.. Most of the US would not of seen the banner.. Booing individual plays does not really show up on TV.. And social media does not matter unless you go gangnam style..

Cheering like that hits the national media and makes everyone else wonder why are they doing that.. When we booed his ass at the softball game, the media was, why are they booing a probowl QB??

No one knows outside of Shannon Sharpe it seems knows that Cassel is one of the worst QB that continually ****s the team over..

It is only low-class because it is not New York or a big time franchise doing it..
