Would Rob Ryan Do Something Stupid?

Rob Ryan -Rex Ryan's fatter, crazier brother- is the DC for the New Orleans Saints, our first pre-season game. Rob got whacked by the Cowboys. Think he'll try to do some crazy shit, like hurt some of our guys in the first quarter to showcase his "attacking" defense?

Tell ya, I'd limit Smith, Charles and Bowe. And I'd get Daniel in early. He might enjoy playing against his old team in New Orleans.

Thoughts?

T-post Tom 07-28-2013 08:22 PM

I'm sure ownership has communicated its desire NOT to have anymore of that nonsense. They can't afford another scandal.

LoneWolf 07-28-2013 08:25 PM

Are you thinking he might have his players try to intentionally hurt some of KC's players? Not one chance that happens in New Orleans. There is absolutely nothing to worry about.

gblowfish 07-28-2013 08:44 PM

I think he might run some massive blitzes and hit somebody late....or try to light up Bowe or McCluster across the middle. I just don't like the guy, and I think his defenses play dirty.

keg in kc 07-28-2013 08:46 PM

Nah. Maybe if we were the Cowboys, but probably not even then.

(Plus Smith, Charles and Bowe will probably be limited anyway.)

Demonpenz 07-28-2013 08:48 PM

nope

OrtonsPiercedTaint 07-28-2013 09:04 PM

Wasn't he a DC for the Raiders for a few years? Hell they've been through so many...

Titty Meat 07-28-2013 09:24 PM

First gane is a dress rehearsal anyway. Remember when our offense lit up the Cardinals last pre season?

Sweet Daddy Hate 07-28-2013 09:27 PM

I'm surprised that Dallas shit-canned him. Seemed like he was bringing some life back to that D. Oh well, not my world/problem.

True, yet Dallas's D was improved over the year before.

I'm not sure. I have some buddies who are Cowgirl fans, so I watched some of their games in a very abstract manner. Living in the Southwest, there are a LOT of Cowgirl vatos and mo hows.

Chief Roundup 07-29-2013 06:10 AM

No this is stupid to think about let alone worry about.

Ace Gunner 07-29-2013 06:17 AM

Roger should get on this before it gets out of hand.

If every NFL team headed to NO for a game wears bubble suits, nobody will get hurted.

I think you're frigging nuts, especially after the whacking the Saints got in the recent scandal, and once you factor in the meaningless preseason game issue.

WTF do the NFC South Saints care about the AFCW Chiefs?!?

Rasputin 07-29-2013 08:01 AM

I think Rob Ryan and Rex Ryan will do something stupid & it's just a matter of time to tell how stupid.

Sully 07-29-2013 08:48 AM

If I understand your thesis, you are saying a guy would send his players to intentionally injure other players in a preseason game....
Okay, let's take a moment and look at what he has to gain.

Looking good for a new job?
No. He already has the job.

Show the league what his defenses will be like?
No. The league has years of tape on him.

To give his team confidence?
Probably not, since, aside from a few quarters, the players involved would be future realtors playing against other future realtors.

To win?
No. Preseason.

Now lets look at the possible consequences.

Loss of job
Lifetime suspension
Actually getting one of his players injured

So, while it may look possible in some Saturday evening movie, high school football team world, I can't imagine that the pluses in any way outweigh the minuses of this.

Never happen again.

Preseason maybe.

Sean Payton is back I feel pity on the league.

Nothing nada.

Chiefs are insignificant.

However they do plan on knocking the shit out of Alex Smith you can count on it.

Sean Payton will never be the same again, nor will New Orleans.

If there's anything more wretched than Texas, it's the incredibly ****tarded state of Louisiana. Combine them both, and you get this guy.

Every team tries, intentionally, to hurt opponents with solid, clean, hits.

Saints were fined for illegal hits in the alleged 'bounty' system.

The whole thing was a witch hunt done for image purposes... Williams paid guys 50 bucks for doing shit any competent defender is trying to do anyway... knock the shit out of the offensive players.

Rob Ryan.....ROFL

He gets by on his "name" more than his talent.

I wouldn't be afraid of any defense he coached.

You're wrong and brainwashed by the NFL.

Saints WERE NEVER FINED OR FLAGGED FOR ILLEGAL HITS. Tagliabue knew that.

They did however have a pay for play like all teams do even your Chiefs.

But you right it was a bullshit witch hunt designed to keep the Saints from playing the Super Bowl in their home stadium. That's all it was.

That being said I hope they knock Alex Smith off his rocker like Kurt Warner. Then he can retire like a little pussy too.

I went the neck doctor and claimed soft tissue damage which they can't prove or disprove.

The insurance company settled for 120K, 1/3 went to the lawyer.

Make sure you get a lawyer that will do it on a contingency basis, no money out of pocket.

You already have a cause of action.

You admitted he was doing less than 1mph and "bumped" you so you claimed soft tissue damage because they "cant prove or disprove it". Whether it was a lawsuit or a dishonest insurance claim you're still a piece of shit.

Actually I don't think Rob Ryan has ever coached a former Super Bowl team has he?

The Saints have talent but no direction. Spags sucked as DC.

We'll know after the Saints/Falcons game.

You won't see anything in preseason but plain vanilla.

pffff, I tend to remember that the Saints blitzed the 49ers reeruned in the first preseason game two years ago, all because Jim Harbaugh didn't call and set up a game plan with Payton.......

Dylan 07-29-2013 11:02 PM

Here is all you have to know about Rob Ryan: Cowboys, Raiders and Browns have gone 46-98 with him as their DC.

The Cowboys defense under Ryan had too many communication breakdowns during the game. J/M/O
