Thats where i think rules need to be changed so that if the division winner in one division isn't as good as the wild card spot, they shouldn't get in.

In this case, NE will get in because their division sucks.....if we go 11-5 and don't get in and they do with like a 9-7 or 10-6 record thats just dumb.

It does seem rather stupid, but there has to be some incentive, some reward for winning your division. Division games are usually really good games, because the teams know that if they can dominate the division, they will be in the playoffs.


It does suck that a really weak division winner could beat out a team in another division with a better record, but the bottom line is that if you want in the playoffs, win your division.
