Cool quote from the Priceton-Harvard story. The game was played at Yale, which was thought to be a neutral site:

Quote:

Before the game, Harvard and Princeton students joined in chanting "Yale sucks!"
Awesome. Harvard should get bonus points just for that.

The last two #2's will probably come out of Louisville, Texas, and UNC.

UNC might change things if they win tomorrow, though, because everyone likes to hype them up even if they aren't that good (and they aren't that good this year).

As an SDSU fan, I'd rather have the 2 in the West than the 1 anywhere else....and the committee knows that so it'll make that an easy decision.

Hell no, thats my point. The person I replied to wants the west because they think BYU will be #2 West. I think BYU will be a #3 or 4 somewhere else, and SD State (which, again is a really good team) will be #2 west.

KU going west would be a complete f**king disaster. Fortunately, we took care of business today and wont have to worry about it, the west region is someone else's problem.

What seed do you think Washington will get?

Buck 03-12-2011 07:58 PM

Correct me if I am wrong, but if the MWC has 3 teams making it, then all 3 have to be in different regions, right? So BYU or UNLV won't be in the west.

#6, at best. Probably one of the dreaded 8/9 ejection seats of the tournament.

not necessarily. The rule is that each team from the same conference must be in seperate halves of a region, until that is no longer possible. (in that case, if a conference gets 9 or more bids like the big east this year, they still must at least keep you separated by quarters of regions so you cant meet until the end of the first weekend) So, it is theoretically possible (but not likely) that 1 team from a conference is placed in one region, 2 from the conference is placed on opposite sides of another region, and none in the other two regions.

As far as the committee is concerned, if you are a #1 or #2, they will seed-protect you until the elite eight games, and for all teams they will conference-protect you up to the sweet-16 games, then there's no guarantee.

Louisville down 1 to UConn inbounding with 27 sec left with the title on the line.

Buck 03-12-2011 10:09 PM

Louisville shooting 3 FTs to tie it up with 4 sec left....made first, missed second...needs to miss now

Buck 03-12-2011 10:11 PM

UConn wins it...they were looking like a 5 seed before the tourney but maybe a 2 or 3 now.

KC_Connection 03-12-2011 11:05 PM

If Boise St. somehow pulls this off, a bubble spot is lost.

KC_Connection 03-12-2011 11:28 PM

Utah St. wins.

This means that only Dayton winning tomorrow in the A10 could take a spot away.

Here are Lunardi's latest projections (which really can't change much anymore, as only Penn State is left).

LAST BYES (avoid First Four games in Dayton)

Michigan
Michigan State
Colorado
Penn State

LAST FOUR IN

Saint Mary's
Clemson
Virginia Tech
USC

FIRST FOUR OUT

Alabama
Georgia
Boston College
UAB

NEXT OUT

Harvard
Missouri State
VCU

Jimmer is a sore loser.

Immediately after the game, Leonard told a reporter that Fredette reminded him of BYU's four-game winning streak over the Aztecs the past two seasons. Later, when asked about it during a news conference, Leonard said there was mutual respect and that they told each other that "both teams played hard."
