I tried to be Planet-friendly, and post the article; however, I couldn't find a way. Like I said: great story, but my eyes hurt, reading it.

How is it the case, that journalists just don't know how to write in plain english?

It sounds like some amateur archaeologist college student got permission from the local DNR to excavate a known Civil War POW camp thought to have little significance and found more than anyone expected him to.

Talk about a kick ass senior thesis.
