I'd have to say he is. I wouldn't like giving him all that money because I think he's a bum and I question his drive, but the Ravens really had no other options.

It's this, and we all know the contract wont play out like it is currently structured. It's all about the guaranteed money.

Let's see.....nine playoff wins, a SB win, only 28 y/o......yeah, why not?

Besides, that contract will look like a bargain in a few years.

Superbowl MVP and a Montana like post season will get you PAID

GoChargers 03-01-2013 10:06 PM

Flacco absolutely deserves to get that paper. Dude is an elite quarterback in a QB-obsessed league.

Flacco's not worth nearly that much, but 31 teams in the NFL should be thrilled that he got it.

Why's that?

That deal just jacked up the asking price for QBs from here on out.

I think he is getting at that they tied up a massive amount of cap space on one guy, therefore being detrimental to the team in a major way~

This. The highest paid player at any position will be the top 10 player that has the newest deal. In a month it will be Alex Smith.

My opinion is Flacco had a hell of a stretch, one for the ages really, and will soon return to his off and on medicore self making that contract rediculous.

Apparently you dont understand how NFL QBs get paid. Win a Superbowl, get an inflated, and most likely, backloaded, contract. Tis the nature of the business.

Well, if he was getting at what hometeam explained, then he has a bit of a point.

I haven't seen the yearly numbers, but I think I remember hearing Peyton got $19.5. If they're giving Flacco $20+, they'll likely have to let go/pass on some other talented players.

Could work out better for the rest of us. Especially if Flacco turns into a fat cat.

Bump.

Mama Hip Rockets 09-05-2013 10:22 PM

A million dollars for each pass he has overthrown by 5+ yards tonight.
