I hope Haith tells the team that they won this game on defense. Not offense, defense. If they play defense like that they have a chance.

DaKCMan AP 02-19-2013 10:13 PM

I really like this Florida team but I'm very concerned come tourney time. All of our losses have come on the road. We don't have a quality road win.

its possible but you know UK of all SEC teams will get insane home cooking.

Outside of only Arkansas, we have to own the home/away differential record in CBB.

That would be nice, but the best thing is that we finally have a signature win. This game punches our dance card.. Now it's time to finish strong and angle for a 5-6 seed.

They needed a quality win baaaad and finally got it, they have 2 easy home games left with a winnable road game, they're in.

mnchiefsguy 02-19-2013 10:25 PM

Win against a top five team late in the season is certainly a booster to the tournament resume. Missouri is now 8-5 in conference play, with two of their last three home. Beat LSU and make Anderson our bitch gets Mizzou to 10-6. I think Mizzou can beat Kentucky if they start strong out of the gate.

Still got the SEC tournament too

LSU
Arkansas
at Tennessee is the remaining schedule.

I was way off. For some reason I thought there were 16 games in the conference season, so I had forgotten all about SC and at TN. I think all of these remaining games are very winnable if the Tigers can play their best basketball.

We could run the table on the way out. The team has played better since Bowers has come back and let's face it, we got a royal Referee ****ing in Arkansas but that being said, hopefully we are on the upswing

If Mizzou can play its best ball, I think they would have a chance to sneak into the top four and get the double bye.

Yea, the last part more than the first. I mean...I want a Miss St. style slam ****ing of that team.

Still pissed from the other day but what a good win by this team today...and its encouraging because they have not really peaked. This team can play so much better.

Pepe Silvia 02-19-2013 10:33 PM

I know it sounds weird but I don't want to win that conference tourney, they need to get one last loss out of the way before the Big Dance.

It's all there. You could argue that this team is better prepared for a tourney run than last year's.

At the same time, I do not want to see them get eliminated from the SEC tourney by losing to 30 to Florida or getting upset by Miss St. or some BS.

I honestly believe that if Mizzou can just get past their first NCAA tourney game, they could make a decent run and get to the sweet 16. The first game of the tourney has historically been the toughest one for Mizzou.

I did the same thing. They've lost just about every basketball game that I've ever watched them play. I watched the Indiana-Mich St game and then turned the tv off. Gonna be a great day at work today surrounded by Gator fans. :)

Most of the ones that I work with have a pretty good handle on sports so they are decent to talk to. The one guy I was chatting with yesterday was lamenting that he thought they were ripe for an upset. He thought that MU would need (and want) the game so badly that they would find a way to win. He was probably more prophetic than he believed.

Not really. They are mostly pretty cool and don't talk a lot of crap. I used to hate the Gators for a while but they were really pretty cool when I went to the Mizzou-UF game in November. The UCF fans kind acted like douches when I saw MU play there a few weeks before that game. I think over time the only SEC team I'll have a real dislike for will be Arkansas.

Yeah - I grew up in a KU household so I knew that Mizzou could step it up in big games at home.

Mizzou_8541 02-20-2013 07:29 AM

I was at the game last night with really nice seats. 5 rows up behind Florida's basket during the second half. (Awesome time, btw. The Golden Girls were right in front of me the whole game, which enhanced my fan experience significantly.) One thing I don't quite understand. When Bell was shooting his FTs with 3.1 left, Pressey, LBo and Rosario were all three camped out underneath Florida's basket. Pressey and Bowers were already congratulating each other; hugging and hi-fiving etc. When Florida inbounded the ball, there was literally only one guy back in a position to hit a 3 (Rosario), whom Phil was standing right next to during Bell's FTs. Why the **** was Phil so late in rotating over to cover him, he was right there!?!? IIRC, Rosario had a really nice look. I guess my question is, WTF was Phil doing?

That was definitely way too clean of a look for as little time was left. Could have bit them big time.

Mizzou_8541 02-20-2013 07:41 AM

Rosario already had like 15, so Phil's just going to forget to guard him? Not surprising.

I thought it was pretty funny when a group of UCF fans tailgating yelled "black and gold baby" at us when we were walking to the stadium. Apparently they didn't know those were Mizzou's colors, even though I was wearing a black shirt with gold writing on it. It didn't seem like many UCF fans went to the bowl game in St Pete when I went there. I'm sure they would probably travel better when they play USF or UF.

ROFL

UCF & USF fans are clueless. They try to talk trash but it's weak and even if it was quality no one would take it seriously anyway.

Perhaps Pressey was making sure he did not foul? The last of couple of games had been rough on Mizzou official wise, I could see an emphasis by Haith to not foul on a 3 pt shot to give them the chance to tie.

Georgia.

You will come to hate Georgia. Imagine taking Arkansas fans and given them just a taste of success, so they think they're on par with Alabama.

You now have Georgia fans.

Like many, I also despised Florida and generally though of Georgia folks as mostly harmless. It's taken me one season in the SEC to realize that I hate Arkansas with the heat of 1,000 suns and that my disdain for Georgia isn't much less. From there I could probably live without LSU fans, Auburn fans and Bama fans, in that order.
