So IOhh broke my leg on valentines day.

I have never broken a bone before. I was walking down my stairs to my driveway and I guess when I had shoveled and salted I missed a stair.

My foot started to slip and I started to fall backwards, then my foot hit the dry pavement and stuck, which in turn basically folded my leg in half.

I am pretty well incapacitated. I was wondering if anyone had some ideas of a new hobby I could pick up while sitting on the couch 23 hours a day.

Ohh, I have copys of the xrays if anyone wants to see them. Pretty gruesome though.

TimBone 02-15-2014 11:28 PM

Breaking Bad(no pun intended), or Boardwalk Empire marathon.

There isn't enough free porn on the internet to keep you occupied?

Broke my leg doing a back flip on roller skates at 14. Most pain I've ever experienced.

ThaVirus 02-15-2014 11:29 PM

Fap your pain away, brother. Empty those nuts.

HoneyBadger 02-15-2014 11:30 PM

Good luck falling asleep in about 2 weeks.

Im a welder by trade, my other hobbies are working on cars, building things and drawing.

I guess i could start drawing again, havent really had time to do that for a while.

patteeu 02-15-2014 11:46 PM

Have you considered suing the homeowner?

J/K, hope you heal quickly and well. I recommend reading a few books while you're laid up.

J Diddy 02-15-2014 11:49 PM

****ing pussy. I walked a god damned mile 2 days after heart surgery.

My advice is to quit being a giant ****ing pussy, get a cane, and shovel snow better.

BTW, i hope you get to feeling better soon.

If so, please wait until tomorrow to make your announcement so you don't step on Ellen Page's big day.

Buehler445 02-16-2014 12:21 AM

Suck man.

Honestly, if you're looking to better yourself do some personal finance research. Lots of free stuff on the internet that can get you basic lessons, but quick books and enter all your bank statements. Or if you're cheap you can start with a spreadsheet.

Figure out where your money is going and then apply strategies to stretch it further. You'll probably need it if you're going to be laid up awhile. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

All the best.

God you poor bastard. Uhmmm, if you're into video games, go buy something that'll take you a while. GTAV, etc. I heard Skyrim is supposed to take weeks to beat.
I've never played it.
Maybe pick up a rock collection like Hank on Breaking Bad?

Ooh, Skyrim would totally work if you've not played. It's a huge game, you can easily put in 100+ hours of gameplay. And it's addictive as hell.

Skyrim owned my life for the first 2-3 months after it came out.

Heh. That's pretty funny..

I was always about and about as a kid. Climbing trees, playing sports, wrestling friends, riding bikes, and all kinds of weird shit. When I first learned how to ride a bike, I skipped training wheels. I learned on one of those bikes that you just pedal backwards to stop but didn't get that part of it down at first. I'd just "stop" by jumping off the bike at whatever speed I was going LMAO I also played organized sports in high school.

How did you break your arm?

Climbing a rope, arm got twisted and broke in a couple places. Not my finest day. Took 6 months before I could pick up any weight more than 10 pounds.

I'm already a little overweight. That's one of my concerns honestly. I'm going to talk to the dr. About doing upper body free weights and core work so I don't gain a ton of weight.

They also said that there is about 90% chance I tore ligaments as we'll. having MRI on Tuesday if swelling is down enough. So I may be layed up for a while

Yeah just do your best to eat clean(er) foods than you have before this. Since exercise will be difficult it'll come down to just eating better and a little less. Cut back on sugar intake as much as possible.

DRU 02-16-2014 10:27 PM

I second the mention of a guitar (or some sort of musical instrument) if you're not already into that. You can spend a lot of time on it and it's something you can really fall in love with.

If you've ever been interested in computer programming / web development, graphic design, or anything like that it's a perfect time for that, too. There are loads of training materials online that you can follow along with and learn all sorts of geek skills that can make you some good money.

Simply Red 02-16-2014 10:30 PM
