Chiefs notebook: Injuries leave question marks on defense
Injuries continue defensive uncertainty
The Chiefs are back where they were two weeks ago: not knowing who might be healthy and available on defense.
A week after their worst defensive performance in team history, the Chiefs might travel to Oakland with a depleted unit. Coach Herm Edwards said Thursday that four regular defenders were unable to practice, and two more were limited.
“We’ll have 11 (players),” Edwards said of his defense’s travel unit. “ Don’t know which 11, but we’ll have 11.”
Cornerback Patrick Surtain (quad), linebackers Weston Dacus (knee) and Donnie Edwards (knee and ankle) and end Tamba Hali (knee) did not participate Thursday. Defensive tackle Tank Tyler (hip) and end Alfonso Boone (back) were limited.
Herm Edwards said Hali and Tyler were “50-50” as to whether they might be available Sunday against the Raiders. After end Turk McBride was placed on injured reserve last week, that leaves rookie Glenn Dorsey as the only healthy starting lineman.
Other injuries
Guard Adrian Jones (ankle) and wide receiver Mark Bradley (calf) also did not practice Thursday.
Safety Jarrad Page (groin) and linebacker Pat Thomas (thigh) were full participants.

Hey guys, if you've ever watchedthe movie Invincible and said to yourself, "I could do that", this might be a good time to try out as a walk-on to the Chiefs roster...
