Plus it's gonna be even longer for us to get our new GM's "players" right? 3 more years of setting up the new GM's style, brand on the team, culture, blah blah.

Man I'm tired of waiting on this team to do something in January. I really hope Clark picks the right ****ing guy this time around.

The first questions Clark should ask the new GM should be:

1. Will you draft a first round QB?
2. Are you subject to changes if need be or gambles to make the team better?
3. Do you hate the Patriots as much as we all do?

Three year wait for what?

Hope? Andrew Luck
Entertainment? Robert Griffin III
Competitiveness after ineptitude? Cam Newton
Playoffs? Andy Dalton
Playoff victory? Mark Sanchez
Super Bowl appearance? Ben Roethlesberger

Quit whining!

2014 we're in the post-season.

this would require Clark to fire Pioli the day/week this current season ends.

If he is flip flopping for a new GM by January/February then Bowe is gone. If he keeps Pioli then Bowe is also gone.

There is a really high chance of no Bowe, unless he is tagged again. and if Bowe gets tagged again I am sure he will not like that.

also to even have a shot at Geno I believe Pioli has to go. Scott Pioli drafting Geno Smith? Pioli putting his ego and Pats Tree bullshit aside to do something different? No way that happens.

Yes, other teams have done it, but they are not in the same group as the Chiefs. KC is in with the likes of Cleveland, the Bengals, and other sad sack wrecks.

The Bengals went to the playoffs with Dalton in his rookie year.

mcaj22 10-03-2012 02:55 PM

yea the Bengals went out and finally did it differently and they are set for the next decade with Dalton+AJ Green to be competitive.

They had to shed all those cancers like Palmer and Ocho to do it

True, but the suckage before that point was Chiefs level!

If the Chiefs get a franchise quarterback this year, we are potentially looking at two really good runs with him. The first is now, the talent is in place for him to come in and look pretty damn good as a game manger. The second is when he hits his peak around age 28/29 etc when the team will need to be rebuilt.

DeezNutz 10-03-2012 03:03 PM

Get a franchise QB and there's no such thing as rebuilding, just reloading.

1st of all, Duh.

Secondly, FA doesn't begin until March.

that doesn't give you much time to work out a new deal, especially if the other side is not budging.

example Brandon Carr. They had to make a jump on Routt in February because Pioli knew his fears come March was Brandon Carr testing FA and not budging on any deal from Piolis end.

The same will happen with at least one of Bowe, Dorsey, Albert, if not two of them. Only one tag to go around and as it stands right now Pioli has NO leverage to get any of these guys to sign long term, unless he severely overpays them. And he's not doing that.

I could get a deal done with Bowe in 24 hours if I had the power to do so. It's not difficult. It's just stubborn GMs being stubborn assholes in their stubbornness and stubborn stubbornity.

it doesnt help that the team sucks now, the season is a mess and it's going to be hard to sell Bowe on staying here with crap like Romeo, Cassel, etc. Unless Pioli can give promises of improvement. Why wouldnt Bowe want to go play for a better team?

If Pioli isn't fired, I don't care what happens after that.

Chocolate Snake would have this team not only going to, but winning a playoff game Year 1.
